I’m trying out Arch on my laptop atm, and tbh the only real advantage (at least for me) is that the packages tend to be a lot fresher than on Debian-based distros. The question is how many of your packages you really need to be that fresh.
I think a lot of Arch users feel like wizards because they connected to the home wifi using the command line, but if you’ve tinkered with (/broken then had to fix lol) other distros, you will have done all this stuff before
I find OpenSUSE Tumbleweed a good solution for up-to-date packages without slow install times or hours spent compiling and configuring things. It’s straightforward but current.
CrossCode is really good, but it isn’t free. I need to look through my Steam library to see which other games might be open source too. This is the only one I’m aware of, really. ProtonDB might have a list of games that are open source. It’s a great resource for checking compatibility if you’re playing on Linux.
Well, I wouldn’t be as snarky about it because getting heated IRL is inconvenient.
But I’ve got no problem telling someone to fuck off if they imply something I said is offensive when it is obviously not conveyed in any context where offence would be justified.
Of course! Thanks for being cool. It always sucks to learn a term you’ve been using has a shitty meaning you didn’t intend, and some people react to that realization quite poorly as we can see below lol
It’s like saying “bad driver”, it’s racist if you say “all Asians are bad drivers” or mysoginist if you say “all women are bad drivers” but “bad driver” by itself is none of that.
I have a Switch, which has hundreds of games and great couch coöp. I can’t speak to most of the other concerns except creativity, and to that I say: Any platform open to indie devs is one that won’t suffer from lack of creativity. You’ll have to deal with Sturgeon’s Law, but that was always true.
I don’t know what this sub’s view on that is, but a hacked switch is especially nice, since usually the latest releases won’t be cracked right away but older ones will be
Part of the value of the Switch is being able to put it in the dock and connect to TV. It’s a lot harder to co-op when you only have the little screen.
I don’t think it’s got quite as much bang for buck as an ebook or Tetris, but .kkrieger is a first-person shooter with multiple weapons, multiple enemies, multiple levels, sound effects, and music, and only takes up 97,280 bytes of disc space.
When you know the dimensions of the legs of a right triangle but not the tangent of the angle opposite the height, you have to utilize the formula “height = tangent(ϴ) * width”.
Hauk Tuah was a pharaoh, little is known about him due to much of the writings documenting his short existence have been lost. However the few writings surviving indicates he spat on criminals’ thang as a form of punishment which was considered worse that death, and one person during his short period in power have convinced him to spit on a thang belonged to a man who wrongdoed him, thus the saying “Hauk Tuah, spit on his thang!”
When I went in I had very specific expectations and Arch lived up to them. Had an idea of what I wanted for a DM, and an idea of what I wanted out of an operating system, and it met my needs. I would still be using it like that except for the fact that I had to change it out to be able to run the proprietary software for my university, and I just never bothered to reinstall/reconfig it. If I were to do it again, I would make some script to set it up with all my necessary programs so that it is robust.
Not mine but from me and it sucks a little. I had a great pair of safety boots, very understandable that they would go missing. I don’t have a locker as I don’t need one, still a little surprised they went missing.
I always wonder whats up with people who steal shoes. Like, do you really fit them though? Wearing the wrong size fucks you feet up one way or another. So what all are they thinking there?
But also, work shoes are hellllluhhh expensiveeeee! I mean, when they're good. Or they can be absolute dog shit (but do what they've gotta do) and be cheap. But a good pair, I could see someone eyeballing. But when you show up to work in someone's shoes how do you explain you're not a premium fuck-face magee!?
I see a lot of people on here using Catbox to host videos, but I haven’t tried it personally. You could also use Imgur which has worked well for me to post pictures. I know they support video uploads as well.
You’re practically asking if you should write your work in French or German. Both are valid artistic choices, but one’s probably going to come more naturally to you.
I do have one idea that you might enjoy though - if you write from both of their perspectives, you could have one woman view everything through an idealistic lens, while the other has a much more grounded view? That dynamic might take over what you already had planned a little bit too much but I thought it was a neat concept.
Whenever I switch between keyboards with different slopes (is that the right word? Like whether they sit flat on the desk or are angled due to their flip out feet or just the board chassis itself) or keycap profiles, and to a lesser extent the switches themselves, It takes a bit of an adjustment period before I’m not keying typos and stuff.
I’m weird and don’t use Bluetooth for any of my primary inputs or audio outputs, so I can’t speak directly to there being an inherent Bluetooth issue like that, but I really doubt it. The massive proliferation of Bluetooth “gaming” mice and keebs wouldn’t have happened if there was such an issue. I just don’t use them bc adhd and keeping peripherals charged is a losing proposition out the gate.
Also, did you type this post on that keeb, or did you just proofread it a ton of times.
10/10 they def have different slopes. The bluetooth one is flat as hey and the other one was tiered. Could def be that. I do use the other one, but not in this scenario and not as often so that could be it.
You're not weird, you're smart =P! You don't like fuss. I did wanna make a bluetooth speaker to jam out with around the house. But I think I am going to put that on hold for now and give this keyboard situation a think. I like to give my purchases a good think. Which was why I was surprised when the last guy pooped out.
I did type this one on that keyb. And it seems to be okay most times. But like I said, I do know that from time to time I can really hit a solid dyslexic spot. But typically I am pretty okay, and I know a couple of people who "fixed" (maybe not cured) their dyslexia issues with frequent reading. And I myself think I fixed mine pretty well doing the same. Idk if my brain is weird (okay, wait that was stupid statement, my brain is weird) but like...uhhhh. Shit. Brain fog, I stayed up too late last night. I see everything I think. I say everything I communicate even in text (like texting a buddy or here). And I think that also helps with me being able to decode things a bit. So then maybe I make less typos on the whole. But I can type pretty fast. Idk how fast, but I would say maybe somewhere between 70-90 wpm. But I can't remember and I don't feel like doing the test. So if I am typing faster than the signal typically sends (or there's some weird latency) maybe then the words come out soupy.
And I know folks make mistakes, cause we're human and I am hot mess. But there's just something weird goign on <<< and it happened right there =P!
Either way thank you and tell me what audio you're using if you don't mind. I used to always rock a mini-boombox in my kitchen and it made being in there such a comfy experience and I have been thinking about how to recreate that so that I can just hop in, press a button and jam out. So if anything comes to mind, feel free to share and I'll give it a look for sure.
Audio? Weird again. For my PC I have a Scarlett 2i2 that I plug my ATH-50 headphones in to, and the line out on the 2i2 runs to a super SUPER old pioneer amp that’s connected to some equally old Technics box speakers, which don’t sound great but get loud. That all connects to my PC and laptop through the KVM. I have an Apple TV that’s connected to a Denon AVR, which has two Focal Choras connected to it. When the laptop is connected I can play music out both sets of amplified speakers together, without Bluetooth or anything, using the Apple Home home play thing. I live in a relatively small house, so that covers most of it. I think I might add in a HomePod so I can have a speaker in the kitchen while cooking, and outside in the backyard when chilling by the firepit and stuff. I’m really hesitating to do it though just bc I’m not sold on the wireless stuff, but the HomePod uses WiFi not Bluetooth so it’s not as bad I guess.
Hey, thanks! I wish I was so cool as to have a solid sound system. I move so damn much, I figured if it's not something that I can fit in a relatively reasonable space it's probably something I'll ultimately have to give away. I was looking around for stuff, and that's how I landed on a bluetooth speaker. Because I am not in the mood to gather cds, an external drive, or anything. Although really if I had it my way I'd load up my flash drive and just plug it into something. I thought maybe building my own bluetooth would keep the volume at a reasonable level, give me a fun project to do, as well as give me a reason to keep lugging the thing with me =P!
I hadn't heard of wifi speakers, so I didn't know they existed but you've got me interested and I am going to have a look. I gave up on headphones because unless terribly long my hair just expands outwards to the heavens and the two don't mix. Two other things, by the by, that I thought about were a micro-set of (powered) bookshelf speakers. But it seemed to intense for a kitchen area. Or taking an old phone, some kinda 2.0 computer speakers, and forming a body out of wood or something to make a "boom-box." But phones are so endlessly creepy that idk. But I do like the recycling aspect, and tbh would still be using the babe today if they hadn't shut down 3G permanently @_!!!
You've given me some things to think of though, and thank you for your help!
I'm super in love with the idea, I wonder if there's some kinda diy setup you could do. Just kinda like how people make streaming servers for their home. I just didn't even think about it. So it was a lovely idea. Big thanks for all the talk =)
