Does anyone know of a digital picture frame product that is good, but doesn’t completely rely on some proprietary service? I’d prefer not to get something as a gift and then in a few years it completely stop working because the company that produced it no longer supports it.

I’m shopping for a new NVMe SSD drive for my laptop and with the second deciding factor being Linux compatibility, I’d looked up the names of specific drives in the source code of Linux and discovered that their controllers have quirks that have to be worked around....

I just picked up Gauntlet for nes and when I load into room 1 I’m greeted with glitched walls misplaced everywhere which let’s me walk through some. and there’s random items I can’t pick up which means I’m unable to continue in the game past room 1

I recently tried to enable system-wide DNS over https on Fedora. To do so I had to to some research and found out how comfusing it is for the average user (and even experienced users) to change the settings. In fact there are multiple backends messing with system DNS at the same time....

Hypothetically, if a colleague has repeatedly demonstrated the utter lack of reading comprehension skills (like pulling the same door labelled “push” for the hundredth time), what job could one suggest for them where this “disability” wouldn’t be detrimental?

I understand that the Romans were unable to conquer Scotland so they build Hadrian’s Wall (which explains the survival of older cultures there). But as far as I know they occupied Wales and Cornwall, so how is it that the Celtic culture (language etc.) survived in those places?
