OK I’ll be serious for a second. The comment was ant-Marx. I think that the idea that capitalism would inevitably lead to a socialist revolution is not a real thing. I’m looking at all the capitalist western countries and see that there is no real need or even desire for people to overhaul the whole financial and governmental systems. Although socialists are becoming more prominent over the years especially on the internet, I believe that this is only relegated to the internet. The only thing close to socialism that we have is Bernie Sanders and he’s not really a powerful politician so others would probably not emulate him in the future.

You can think that this is a cope or a soyjack-like post all you want, but at least I live in the real world where we’re not waiting for a fantasy revolution that would make us work in socialist utopias where everyone is a farmer in a small garden or a hair stylist or whatever the fuck people thing it’s gonna be like. I know the issues that would plague something like socialism or communism and know that capitalism solves all the problems there. Just look at the USSR in their last years and how much the US was outpacing them in terms of technology and production. The quality of life in capitalist countries was and still is leagues above any socialist or communist countries.

I can understand when people criticize the current system we have since it’s 100% not perfect. But to just call for a socialist revolution instead of better methods of regulation and closing loops as we discover them is just stupid.

And lastly, the post is pretty stupid on another level since the “woes of capitalism” are there because of events that mess up global trade like the pandemic or the current Houthi attacks on the red sea, when you know for a fact that any country that’s not extremely closed off and protectionist would be just as impacted.

Is there any way for me to easily remotely browse and view files on my tablet from my phone?

I’ve got a tablet with way more storage space than my phone. I’d like to be able to access all the files on it from my phone, just for viewing, without having to manually set up both devices for something cumbersome like TeamViewer. But also without having to use cloud storage. Is there any way to do this?

You can try sshDaemon on the tablet and Material Files for the phone. Although it’s a bit technical to make it easier to connect. You’re gonna have to make an RSA SSH key pair so you don’t have to put in the password on material files every time. But you are gonna have to change the IP on it if you move around to new networks.

Yeah I think they saw a couple of examples Of stores taking out the self checkout lanes and ran with them. Although you could say the theft that the self checkout lanes allow is a recurring expense, but that’s probably not nearly as much as the saving that the machines give.

The FP5 is the best in terms of repairability. The device just opens up without any insane glue, just clips and screws, the parts are there and are reasonably priced. And it’s manufactured with sustainable source material according to the company. The workers are treated well also according to them. The company directly sells the FP4 with the deGoogled /e/os which shows that they care about privacy. I could also see them selling this one with built in /e/os sometime in the future. It also does everything you expect from a phone reasonably well.

However, as a phone in that $750 price range, the features and polish are lacking. For some reason, the phone just feels sluggish to use. I have a Pixel 6 and compared to it the difference is night and day. The screen says that it’s 90Hz but it feels like 25Hz when scrolling sometimes. So I recorded scrolling on a chromium browser on both the FP5 and the P6P. I think you can see the difference. Keep in mind that the videos are both 60Hz so I’m probably not inaccurate when I say 25Hz.

I think the phone is overall positive since it gets you from point A to point B and the philosophy behind it is great. I myself am gonna be regularly using it since the sluggishness is something I kinda gotten used to.

Edit: I should have mentioned this from the get-go. But I have installed /e/os which is in beta. This could contribute to the slowness so take my experience with a grain of salt.

I mean he does like carnivore diets, he puts vaccine skeptic people on his show, he took Ivermectin, and there is likely some other dumb shit he spews that would be harmful. Now I can’t say I am an expert in Korean history but it seems that NK wants the US out of SK not because they’re afraid of US attacks but because they want to take over SK. But you know Kim is pretty smart keeping his people uninformed about the world outside his country since it’s probably gonna be bad for him. If people really knew that he was not willing to give up his nuclear bullshit and keeping his people perpetually in the verge of famine while their southern counterparts are economically thriving, he probably would lose a lot of his popularity. He’s not making the same mistake as East Berlin that’s for sure.

Also, I wouldn’t say that Trump got concessions from NK. I was saying that the opinion of the SK people was swayed because they saw hope since the summit was between Moon and Kim would be fruitful. Sure I’ll gladly admit that to have a government agency that tampers with elections and persecutes people for having political opinions is fucked up. The practices of the NIS are akin to that of an authoritarian government, which stand against the liberal values I like. That being said, it doesn’t really hold a candle to what North Korea does with their “elections.”
