So this is basically like a blood farm from vampires? Shit, still surprises me what an evil species we really are.

In Europe there is also sky, who has all rights on HBO stuff here and thus can hold out despite its terrible player. Also DAZN for sport events. Both are imo completely relying on third parties though (sky on HBO and dazn on the leagues).

Hahaha, october… In Germany they put up the decoration in late August this year.

One can get hurt without a direct hit. E.g. when a window bursts from a shockwave and hurts people inside a building.

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

Still good. In Germany the sale of Christmas sweets and decoration started in the last week of August. It’s just ridiculous. I think we had almost 30°C when I first saw it.

It certainly became worse, but it’s not like it was good before him.

Maybe on day 1. On day 100 you are simply immune to coffee and need to stop drinking coffee for 2 weeks to have any effect again.

Mate tea can also be am extra , when one is already mostly caffeine immune. Don’t know why, but it works (to a degree).

Don’t ask me, how I know.

Looks more levantine than north African. But also looks tasty.

Don’t use a baby camera that is connected to the internet. Use one with a monitor that is connected to the camera with a local encrypted signal.

The one we had isn’t available anymore, but I am sure there are more modern equivalents.

Yeah, no meat? Maybe. But no yoghurt? Just fucking kill me.

But why? It is a full Linux distro. All games compatible to the Steam deck also run on other distros. So the motivation to develop for Linux is the same and we users of other destroy profit from that the same.

100%. I just don’t get productive before 13:00 and my best time is 17:00 to 19:30. I come to work at 8:30, sit arround basically not accomplishinga anything before noon and then work productively a couple of hours and when I start to really get stuff done I am forced to stop (working has to stop at 18:00 here).

Enough meat, one slice too little of cheese. But why is there no butter nor salad on it?

menemen ,

My main reason to go to McDonalds on a business trip is, that you can eat there on your own without looking lonely.

Read into the differences of blood penises vs. meat penises. ( But don’t do a picture search. Google misinterprets that terribly.)

70 mph so 110kmh. Basically standing from a German perspective. :)

I live in a house build in the late 1800s. There are names and dates carved into the brick facade from 70 years ago. I think that is kinda cool.

They are also who mostly finances the development of very many Foss products. So still better than closed source, as small companies and the general public can also use those products.

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

They should concentrate on making EVs financially more plausible for people without an electrified garage. Half of Germany lives in flats, most without an own parking space and will pay much more for charging their EV with much less comfort. And politics seem to completly ignore that.

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

That is why it should be solved by our politicians. They cannot always leave the main burden to the poor and the middle class…

menemen , (edited )
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

Where you still wait 30 minutes and pay much more than those charging at home.

So: no. That is not what I mean. That is a pretty much useless imo, there are so many charging stations everywhere and they are mostly empty whenever I see one anyways (maybe, just maybe, because depending on a EV is so difficult for almost everyone living in flat?).

I live in the city and am lucky to almost never need a car. Many of my neighbours need a car though for various reasons. There is not a single EV car in the whole neighborhood of several thousand people. And guess the reason: it is impossible to switch to one. And this law proposed here will do zero to change that.

You see a shitload of EV cars in the suburbs though.

Hm? The homeopathic approach to climate change would be to dissolve a tree in 100,000m³ of alcohol, pour that into the ocean and wait for results.

menemen , (edited )
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

Burning a tree also sets free a lot of CO2. :) Heating with wood is not sustainable at all, unlike some lobbyist made us beliveve.

But yeah, oil would have been the more obvious example.

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, I wouldn’t want a car without e.g. a trip computer. But I also defintly don’t want a “smart car”.

The modern one, but the offline version.

menemen ,

Are you from Germany? :)

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

Because if you also used coconut milk and a westernized Curry powder this is basically Germanies national fall dish. As soon as the temperatures fall, everyone does it (but butternut squash came like only 10 years ago, it is red kuri squash traditionally).

Just thought maybe you are German as Germans post this type of pictures all over social media at this time of the year. But it is probably not only Germany. :)

Tbh, I really enjoyed the lockdowns. We have young children and I got to spend so much time with them. I got much closer to them than I ever could have without covid. Was stressful though my wife and I had to work in shifts, so that one of us could be with the children, so long days.

But now they are in school and I think lockdowns are not that great for young school-children. So, I am undecided. Maybe a lock down excluding schools up to year 8 or so.

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

Oh, I live in Germany. My children walk or go by kick scooter. :) But yes, I hope so.

Our corporation (170k employees) switched to google workspace and demands that everyone who can, should work with a chrome book. It’s wild. It’s still a minority, but we actually have a significant percentage working exclusively on chromebooks now (still single digit thought afaik).

The Spotify Car Thing cost $100, but I can't use it anymore. (lemmy.ml)

EDIT: The only reason why I still had it at this point was because I could use it with other apps. However, now that my Spotify Subscription is cancelled, it doesn’t work with anything. It’s mildly infuriating because today, I can’t still use it with other apps like I was able to yesterday....

menemen ,
@menemen@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t own one. But having real buttons is always an advatage for me when driving a car. I think my car can do everything the “Car Thing” did via the buttons on the steering wheel and the screen of the radio (or multimedia screen or whatever we call those nowadays), but if I had an car that can’t I might have been interested.

Lol, the US learned literally nothing from what they did to Iraq and Afghanistan. But this time there is no Pakistan, Turkey, Iran and Lebanon to take in 10 million refugees, they will come to the US.

While i certainly wouldn’t rule it out, this are just unconfirmed rumors. I wouldn’t get too hopeful.

Here in Germany they just take it to the depot for you to pick it up yourself, mark it as “not deliverable” and send you that yellow paper per post 3 days later.

menemen ,

Much more understandable though. Even without anything to declare, the “please come here” can mean that you’ll lose the next 20 minutes looking at your dirty underwear with a stranger, while you are probably already kinda stressed from the travel.
