Honestly I actually had not thought about people sitting around waiting to charge. In my area there are tons of chargers, grocery store, Costco, the mall, movie theaters. My experience had been that people would charge while doing other things. Thanks for the insight into a good use for it.

You do realize the original comment was simply describing the reason for the lawsuit and you commented “I think you are confused.”

They are literally saying they wanted to be able to streamline this process and get their stuff back faster. Explaining the difference between impounding and civil forfeiture doesn’t change the content of the article. The original comment was accurate in describing what the article was about.

Like it was said, if you had originally read the article or look into it before commenting you would know they already got their cars back. Meaning your staunch stands that they don’t get their stuff back is false.

Even if you had done a simple Wikipedia search you would understand that there is a hearing. That means you can fight it and get your stuff back. A preponderance of evidence is required for civil asset forfeiture.

The Supreme Court case is about the intentional delay of the hearing for civil asset forfeiture. So that means they can represent themselves or pay for legal counsel to get their stuff back in a reasonable time. (Due process, fifth and 14th amendment. The government cannot deprive anyone of life liberty or property.) clearly we are talking about property here.

Don’t get me wrong civil asset forfeiture should not exist, and is an abomination to our rights. However, you need to accept that you were wrong with your comment towards Chestnut for giving a simplified explanation of what the root caused for the case was.

What are you talking about!!! Halo, Call of Duty, and Battlefield are all really fun games and absolutely totally unique. When a sequel comes out its multiplayer is amazing right away and all the best playlists are there with tons of maps right away! I never have to ask “why didn’t they include the playlist or mode from the last one that everyone loved” just to wait a year for some DLC that is the exact thing from the prior game.

Halo specifically even gets the community involved by letting them make maps and then using those maps to deliver new experiences for players. They never reuse parts of maps in other maps that could be seen as lazy or obvious.

I did read the article. He pleased guilty. Actually it would be over 100 not 100 if he got released. That’s why I don’t really care if it’s cruel or unusual.

I really dislike it when people say “read the article” and misquote it. This guys is a monster and intimidated the family so they wouldn’t come forward. Talk about human rights.

I was originally going to point out that this guy pleaded guilty but really no need because I can’t argue against your point at all.

That’s a very well put point. I didn’t care about this guy because I was picturing my kid as the victim. (That’s why parents shouldn’t have anything to do with punishing the convict)

I am against capitol punishment on principle. This article just hit me wrong or right depending on how you view it.

I did not think about how these laws can be used as tools to punish “others” especially in states that are or have started criminalizing anything near LGBT. Thanks for the good point.

Then if you do get or have a Roku TV, just don’t add the wifi to your TV. (I know this won’t work for the sticks, but for the cheap TV, just don’t add that to the wifi)

I know that defeats the point of a smart TV but its a lot cheaper than other screens.

The problem is that idea derives from an economics idea that “your customers preferences” are the ones you should gear your product/service to.

I like green so I stock 10 green boxes and 5 red boxes. At the end of the day I have 9 green boxes left but no red ones. The red sold out. The customer is always right it doesn’t matter what you like you should stock what they want because that is what will sell. (At least that’s what I was taught in my college economics class)

I think you are confusing what OP is saying with what the Bible says.

I took it more along the lines of “this story existed and was originally meant to teach young girls not to be tempted” and then the writers of the Bible came along. They used a common story to help with the point they were trying to get across.

What do you mean if your brain works in digital time. This doesn’t translate for me and I grew up with regular clocks and wrist watches. All time is the same. A clock with both hands facing 12 is and always has been twelve o’clock. Clock face or digital clock. They give the same time. Comparing two devices that give the same information in different ways to language is absurd.

Your comparison could work if the subject being discussed was 12 vs 24 hour time keeping. Then there is a translation between the two.

I understand your point in the creator but I find fault in that argument.

Historically it doesn’t matter what the creator of anything prefers unless it’s an “unveiling” and they name it on the spot. People in general will take something and run with it regardless of the creators intent. The perfect example is “light saber” versus “laser sword.” (Edit forgot to add the word sword after laser)

To be honest I don’t care all that much. If you say jif or gift without the t, either way I know what you are talking about.
