Personally, I have bigger issues with this.

Gas pumps have had canopies for as long as I can remember. This should be expected.

To be fair, that GPU is long past EoL. Even the 7xx series doesn’t receive support/driver updates anymore.

EDIT: It was late, totally misread it as GTX not RX.

Why on earth would Canadians speak Spanish. We already have two official languages with 1/3rd the country fully fluent in both.

Time for a good old fashioned French revolution.

has your YouTube consumption decreased after implementing the "no history, no recommendations" feature?

I noticed my consumption has decased quite a bit. I would visit regularly to watch content from few channels. I would probably still visit every so often to watch the new videos. But the experience has become more deliberate and conscious. I go to YouTube because I want to go and watch something specific. Mindlessly browsing and...

This is one of my biggest pet peeves about YouTube.

ilickfrogs ,

Honestly I would think less shit of them at this point if they just admitted to their garbage doings. Denying it just makes them seem like spineless pussies in addition to the horrid monsters they already are.

No, X is a letter. But it doesn’t matter what you call a shitty product, it’s still a shitty product. I’ll also keep calling it twitter.

Because there’s 2 types of conservatives, the rich and greedy self centered ass hats who don’t need an education. And then the stupid people. They’d be throwing away a part of their base if they allowed them to learn.

In a literal theft from the people sense? Yes. In reality? No, he’s rich so he can do what he wants. Laws are to keep us poor in check, not to be fair.

ilickfrogs ,
@ilickfrogs@lemmy.world avatar

Actually it’s absolutely realistic and fair. I don’t like Musk, or Tesla for that matter. But they make it pretty damn clear that you’re 100% responsible for the vehicle when using that feature. Anyone who assumes they don’t need to pay attention is a moron and should be held responsible. If a 747 autopilot system starts telling the pilot to take control of the plane and they don’t… we wouldn’t blame the manufacturer, we’d blame the shitty pilot that didn’t do their job.

Microsoft now has implemented "compare with Bing chat" button when you visit Google Bard in Edge (reddthat.com)

When you visit the Google’s chatbot bard’s website in Microsoft Bing. A New Button pops up besides the search bar which lets you compare bard results with Bing chat’s. I have no idea why they implemented this, well maybe to show off the their chatbot is better than bard or something?

ilickfrogs ,
@ilickfrogs@lemmy.world avatar

To be fair that could be a lot worse. I was expecting injected webpage content. I think this is acceptable and serves as a quick way to compare multiple sources. I dislike that it’s Microsoft more than I do the actual “feature”.

Why isn't there a "Spotify premium" for news?

I really dislike ad driven publications. I’m not opposed to paying for quality news publication, but for something like NYT, there’s only a couple articles a month I come across that I’m really interested in reading. There problem is that there’s 4-5 other paywalled publications where I have that same issue. I’m...

The fact they need to go out of their way to track this when it’s obviously not visible in production screams that this is utter horseshit.

The many instances and multiples of the same communities across all instances would absolutely be confusing to your average joe. But, once you start using Lemmy you realize understanding all that doesn’t matter and it just works. As for the stability thing… A fediverse of new communities based on open source software has growing pains? Gasp… The article reads like that person is truly unaware of how software works in the beginning.

The music industry adapted for the internet. Film and TV will need to do the same if they want to reduce piracy to nothing like music. Naturally an all in one streaming service won’t be cheap like music due to costs. But 50$ for a one stop shop video streaming service seems fair to me. 50$ split across multiple UIs feels like a rip. The music industry also made compromises on profits so greedy ol Hollywood can do the same. But let’s be real, they try to make copyright a criminal offense through lobbying before that.

It goes beyond Republicans. It’s all the right leaning insecure macho men that struggle to prove their manhood. So, they result to trivial shit like dick size and fearing someone thinking they’re gay. Losers.

The Lemmy userbase is so small by comparison to reddit. I don’t like subscriptions or ads but my god man’s gotta eat. People get butthurt way too easily over this stuff.

YSK: Browsing "ALL" at work might get you pulled into an office, even with NSFW off.

Why YSK: It appears several Lemmy Instances are flagged as suspicious and at least 1 instance intentionally using the name of ransomware. A couple of the big enterprise monitoring suites (Fortiguard, ZScaler) will flag your account and may end up with you being pulled into an office for an explanation, or worse....

Right? What a stupid article. The answer is a resounding YES. Facebook knowingly profited off misinformation and rage. They don’t give two shits if they cause societal collapse by eroding confidence in our institutions so long as they make a buck in the process. Fuck Facebook and Mark Fuckerberg.

Just about everywhere does that. People love throwing around the charge back option on the internet but it often fucked you over. Some companies use 3rd party payment processors so it can not only ban you from the company you charged back but also anything else using that processor.
