Other power companies have started replacing poles and lines to meet new safety standards. If these same lines were in California, they probably would have already been replaced. Ideally, other states should learn from the 2002 national standard and the 2018 fires and not wait until it happens in their own backyard.

Here in California, they started using insulated wire for all of them a few years ago after a big fire in 2018. They recently replaced a bunch of poles near me and I’m not even in a brush area. I guess it’s not as much priority in the Midwest, but Hawaii should have followed California’s lead.

But antimatter needs energy to create, probably more energy than it can produce. Unless you can find some source of it in the environment. Fusion is much more likely to be feasible.

Antimatter might make a good compact way to store energy for a starship, if it was created in a large fixed facility with access to huge power sources. But it’s not a way to generate energy by itself.

I would like to REALLY archive some older e-mail-folders. Archive seems not to be the right word, because i work with empty inboxes, so every completed or answered e-mail is still archived in a folder (with the name of the year), but i use IMAP so all archived emails are still on the server....

MBOX is a standard format, which is text based, (like the emails themselves are) and should be compatible across multiple email clients. It can contain entire folders.

EML is also a standard text format, but usually contains a single email in each file.

In the worst case, you can just open up either one in a text editor if you need to find something.

Not a computer. A conductor. A superconductor is a material, a chemical. Finding the right combination of elements to make a new material with specific properties is usually called a discovery. (As there are a finite number of elements, and a finite, though large, number of ways to combine them, especially for homogenous, non biological molecules.)

Designing a process to create that material would be an invention.

Totally different kind of laws. The Canada law makes the tech companies pay for news that get from other sources. I’m not sure I agree with that link tax, but I see the reasoning. The UK law outlaws end to end encryption, which is anti consumer in my view.
