You can try to scan your server with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus (it is available as a docker container) or sn1per which is open source.

Hey, I tried to run this container but I can’t make it functional… Do I need to modify something else from my host (I am talking about fw).

Massive Thank You

I’ve been at this self hosting stuff since Christmas and at every step of the way, I’ve come asking for help and advice from this community (and the related ones) and everyone has been super generous with their knowledge and guidance. I am extremely humbled by the kindness you have all given me. Shit, I’m even grateful for...

    Seems like we are a circus with awesome international laws, but nothing realistic in practice…

    What distro would you recommend for a 32-bit old Acer One laptop? (kbin.social)

    It's an old model (Acer One D257) Processor is Intel Atom. Memory is 1GB DDR3 with 320 GB of HDD. I currently Have MX 21 running on it, but I need to reinstall because I forgot the root password. Since I'm reinstalling the OS, I thought I'd ask here for recommendations for an OS that makes the most of this oldie.

    Personally I am using a netbook like this as a headless server with Ubuntu.

    You can try to run Lubuntu, or even TinyCore and Puppy Linux on this for simple tasks.

    Generally speaking, with 1GB of ram and Intel atom, as you stay away from video streaming platforms and use simple tools for writing text or run simple code in python, you would be fine. However with less than 100€ you can find laptops with core i5 4rd generation with 8gb ram. I am not sure if it worths it.

    I have used both, personally I prefer kavita as it runs faster.

    However kavita needs to create user accounts as well as it is auto categorizing books and comics which personally I hate, especially for my cybersecurity books.

    Binance has no problem with its clients. FTX literally invested the money of the people in high risk assets, and they ended up bankrupted.

    In the day of the Binance’s trial, people withdraw more than billion of dollars worth Cryptos. Binance didn’t end up bankrupt as they are holding A LOT.

    If you are trading, its a cheaper choice. (Except if you are trading in Blockchains like polygon) Also, “not your keys not your coins”, but most people are losing access to their Facebook account (without 2FA), they have no chance to keep their own keys…

    Many applications especially banks require Google Safetynet to be functional, even without root. I am running DivestOS, a hardened version of LineageOS without gapps, and I can’t have access on my bank because I chose freedom. Democracy at its finest…

    sv1sjp ,
    @sv1sjp@lemmy.world avatar

    But in most of OEMs you cannot relock the bootloader with your own key…

    sv1sjp ,
    @sv1sjp@lemmy.world avatar

    Now try to use most of Banking applications (even McDonalds app lol) Most of these application require Google Play Integrity. So practically, you are enforced to use Google Play Services or buy a second device to run android with gapps and then power it off (that’s what I did)

    The plausible solution is named Blockchain and smart contracts. Until then…

    Well, personally I prefer the one with Enforcing Selinux by default.🐘

    sv1sjp ,
    @sv1sjp@lemmy.world avatar

    But if it does not getting any updates, it is a bit risky… Find a custom which gets security updates and then do whatever they say in other comments.

    sv1sjp ,
    @sv1sjp@lemmy.world avatar

    Well…lets pretend that with SafetyNet they don’t enforce people to stay away from Foss android. I mean, yes, I am running DivestOS, but a lot of APS are not working because they need Google Play Services. Some other they don’t even want you to have an unlocked bootloader. Most of Android devices do not support relocking your bootloader…
