She wasn’t successful in killing the child, so no, no pardon from Abbott. He only pardons actual convicted killers of hate crimes.

What's was your favourite fast food product that unfortunately got retired and never came back?

Here, for a while at McDonald’s there was a 🍔 called “the 1955” and it was the best, big pieces of onion, an special sauce, buns and big piece of beef with bacon (for Europe standards anyways) it disappeared once and came back for an encore only to be removed again and never return.

Tyfud ,

The double decker is still around, they call it something else, but you can still order it.

Tyfud ,

That’s pretty much exactly what he claimed.

Prosecutors say Alec Baldwin was ‘engaged in horseplay’ with gun before fatal shooting (www.theguardian.com)

Fewer than three weeks before actor Alec Baldwin is due to go on trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico, prosecutors have said that he “engaged in horseplay with the revolver”, including firing a blank round at a crew member on the set of Rust before the tragic accident occurred....

Tyfud ,

Hate to say it, but I agree here.

This is the price paid for not treating real guns with respect. Prop bullets or otherwise.

Tyfud ,

He clearly was typing on his phone and his message was obvious.

Tyfud ,

And the cycle repeats, again and again, until there’s nobody left

I disagree that religion has nothing to do with it. Religion is the vehicle used for these people to molest children, and religion often protects them when they’re found out.

Religious institutions do an absurdly terrible job of governing themselves, or background checks, etc.

They’re the reason so much of this is allowed to keep happening.

Tyfud ,

But it removes the ability to liquidate the company to pay off the personal debts as part of the restructuring of the bankruptcy. This is kinda exactly what Alex Jones wanted to happen. Now it’s a race.

Tyfud ,

I’m going to be so happy to see his death caused by a likely drug overdose. Not because I take joy in his death, but we’ll finally be rid of having to hear about his stupidity and drama every day.

Tyfud ,

Yeah, there’s ways around this. It’s just that most of the ublock origin blocking specific code, isn’t reusable here and the team will need to start over to deal with this new tactic/approach from Google.

The cure might eventually be worse than the disease though. If not now, or tomorrow, then the next day.

Tyfud ,

Because Netflix didn’t dismantle the capitalism machine.

Capitalism can never fully disrupt itself. It’s always cyclical. If bundling eventually made it more money, then it will eventually return. If the response to that is to innovate something that gets around that form of bundling, then that “disrupts” the market, in the short term, only for the market to settle back to bundles.

Because as long as the idea makes more money in a capitalistic society, it will never die.

The literal definition of conservatives fits the Pharisees to a T.

You understand they killed him because they were conservatives and didn’t want his “new progressive” ideas from spreading further to the people, correct?

You’re not even trying here. Or you’re really, really clueless as to what conservatism is in politics throughout history.

TL;DR; Jesus was a progressive. The people who killed him were conservatives. If Jesus were alive today he’d 100% be a progressive/liberal. His ideas fit neatly within the progressive and liberal ideals, even 2,000 years later. And just like 2,000 years ago, conservatives today would claim he’s the anti-christ and try and murder him to kill his “progressive” ideas.

We don’t even have to create hypotheticals. We see this with people who actually represent Jesus Christ’s teachings from the book (love everyone equally, don’t judge, don’t horde money, render unto ceasar, help the poor, give up your money to help, don’t build giant churches and temples, don’t be racist, don’t do war, don’t do genocide, etc. etc.), get attacked and death threats from modern day conservatives. Just like the conservatives from B.C.

Nothing has changed. Because that’s what being a conservative means.

You understand that right? It’s literally right there in the name.

Tyfud ,

Looking at the trailer and reading the article, it’s clear they’re going back to the doom 1 roots with the way the projectiles feel like it’s a 2D top down shooter.

That’s the way it’s supposed to feel imo, and I dig the direction they’re heading and the combat definitely felt like oldschool 2D top down shooters were supposed to feel: Dodge everything, never stop firing.

Tyfud ,

I could buy this

Tyfud ,

Hi. I see that you’re religious. Have you met other religious people before?

Tyfud ,

Rooting is a technical thing, not a user thing. You should not need to perform a complex and risky task like Rooting, to make a phone usable. It should come that way with those options to uninstall facebook by default.

Tyfud ,

They were always an ass. That’s the secret.

Nowdays, we just have more visibility into this shit than we did “back in their day”.

Tyfud ,

Technically you’re correct, as middle class is a loose definition, and at one point used to mean just owning “two cars”.

Times have changed though, and I think the OP’s definition is the more accepted one.

Middle class would be not struggling financially with basic necessities. You may struggle in other areas, but not in food, shelter, clothing sort of stuff.

Essentially, the OP is saying that if you’re struggling financially, you’re not middle class, in how middle class should be defined in the current economy.

Tyfud ,

Ironically, this would net them huge profit right now with the global shortage of orange juice happening.

Tyfud ,

Honestly, just looks like he was captured or saved, and stored in the bathroom until they could figure out what to do with him. He probably got nervous and tried to climb out. They’re insanely strong in certain directions, like, insanely. Wouldn’t take much to pop the toilet off its bolts.

Tyfud ,

He’s not saying that to try and make Palestine or himself look good, he’s saying that to try and make Israel look bad.

That’s it.

Texas Supreme Court rejects challenge to state's abortion law over medical exceptions (apnews.com)

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday rejected a closely watched challenge to the state’s restrictive abortion ban, ruling against a group of women who had serious pregnancy complications and became the first in the U.S. to testify in court about being denied abortions since Roe v. Wade was overturned....

Tyfud ,

Complain harder about woke ideologue as they blame liberals for shunning their perfect state.

I say this as a recent transplant out of spending almost 2 decades in Texas.

Couldn’t get out of there soon enough. So happy we left.

Tyfud ,

We’re up in Colorado, near the Denver area now. Much, much, much, much better. This state isn’t batshit insane.

Tyfud ,

It’s cold at night, and warm during the day. But yeah, it is more expensive up here.

Tyfud ,

Yeah, for sure. If you ever want any help/advice/etc. about moving up here if that’s in your cards at some point, feel free to HMU. My wife and I just went through it, as did 2 of my friends who transplanted out of the Austin area to here.

It’s better on the other side, for sure.

There’s still a lot of trump/MAGA crazies up here, because they’re roughly 30% of the voting US population; but they lack any real governing or decision making power in the state, and losing more every day.

We vote by mail, with a guide that tells you the full details (in a large packet) of what every single law, bond, etc. means and how it could affect you along with the background on how that law got onto the ballot.

Then you just drop it off at the post office box and you’re done. It’s amazing how easy it is to vote compared to Texas.

And that’s just one of the many things that’s better. :)

Tyfud ,

He’s being condescending because he believes as a developer nothing is actually fully secure. If I spend 100 hours building and securing something, that’s not going to stack up very favorably vs the 1,000’s or even 1,000,000’s of hours attackers and communities can spend trying to break my security layers.

Basically, he’s a dick in how he answered the question, but the truth every software engineer learns, is that there is no fully secure system. There’s always an angle/attack vector you didn’t think of and secure.

Tyfud ,

Those are apologetics. There’s no point in time where faith has ever required proof or evidence. Trust is not a better translation. Trust can be broken between two people and requires a mutual exchange of equals. That is not what religion is. It is not two equal parties exchanging trust. It’s one party with all the perceived power telling the other how it’s going to be without being able to change the rules, disagree, doubt, etc. It requires total and complete faith to accept. Not trust. Faith.

So while what you wrote sounds nice, it’s all bullshit.

Tyfud ,

Nono no.

You see, that’s covered in the “Ethical Business 101”.

Tyfud ,

But why a reddish kind of powder for your cheeks/lips, specifically?

Tyfud ,

It’s not too costly, it’s just a lot of cost, and a lot of investors are unwilling to make that investment and would rather ride the crazy train into the ground than reinvest in their buildings

Tyfud ,

Ah yes, let’s reference all of the laws, for which you don’t ascribe, to justify you not ascribing to those laws.

Tyfud ,

I love the little kitty ear protection. We need more cat PPE.

Tyfud ,

He already mentioned it was a religious thing, so chances are slim that the game is grounded in anything approaching logic.

Tyfud ,

Voted in by a generation of entitled, narcissistic boomers that were unfortunately exposed to leaded gasoline and paint at an early age, who know about as much about world history as their IQ counterparts: third graders.

Tyfud ,

Brain worms.

Tyfud ,

In 2022, Madison Dapcevich of Snopes, the fact-checking website, investigated Lotito’s claim that he ate an entire airplane. She concluded that, although there are many accounts of Lotito’s consumption of unusual objects, and that he “very likely” consumed such objects on stage as a professional entertainer, she was unable to confirm that Lotito ate an entire airplane, or even part of one.

Looks like there’s no real record of him having eaten a plane. Likely a tall story he or his cohorts created.

Tyfud ,

This needs to be repeated more and more.

Tyfud ,

Ah, ok, so it’s a lot better in India and Pakistan then?

Please explain how. I’m serious. And curious.

Tyfud ,

Except most fossil fuels come from decayed plant matter.

Tyfud ,

The thing is, in the US it’s used to suppress voting because getting a valid ID that’s recognized requires things like having a home with a permanent address, or the ability to drive, things that lower income households or the homeless are unable to provide.

In America, it’s intended to disenfranchise the minority class.
