Now, I was thinking of dual booting Windows additionally for a certain game (definitely not League of Legends, for sure not) and will need to buy a new key. Often times reviews are written by people with English not as a first language, or the reviews are machine translated (nowadays with AI itself). Many AIs use real reviews as templates to train on, so its not surprising to me that the differences aren’t easily spotted. The main tells are when it uses too flowery language and tone and doesn’t get to the point.

To me it seems similar to if you heard an electronic speaker playing a bird call vs. a real bird call, could you tell the real one from a distance?

If you were an expert birdwatcher you could probably tell easier. If the speaker repeated the exact same call on a loop you could tell, if you were in earshot of electronic buzzing in the background you could also, but depending on how sophisticated the speaker is setup (like delay and variety of calls, you might not.

Delivery is most useful for people who smoke weed and/or other drugs often. You get the munchies, you can’t drive and don’t wanna go out anyway so you have food appear magically at your door. Doesn’t matter what it costs.

Every aspect seems about this war since Oct 7th especially seems strange to me.

As a general pattern in North America that I’ve observed: Pro-Israel government actions, aid, narratives etc. spread and proceed quickly, anti-Israel or Pro-Palestinian movements are immediately acted to harshly but are only later given credence, and anti-Palestine incidents are investigated very slowly and usually the US and Canadian governments rely on Israel’s worthless word.

Why are our countries so lopsided when it comes to engaging in these topics diplomatically?

Thank fuck for Steam incentivizing removing launcher spam with the Steam Deck. Yes, it reduces functionality and also yes, Steam is itself a launcher. Publishers have to start cutting out with the launcher practice tho.

There are many honest criticisms of closed-source Beeper, but I use it so that I don’t have to use Meta’s apps which will ever-evolve into more powerful data-consuming monsters that they are.

It’s an app to aggregate your chats over a encrypted Matrix protocol, but using Beeper’s Matrix servers as relays.

There are complaints about the app being closed source, the app being incompatible with other matrix servers besides their own and they will be implementing an optional paid subscription in the future. All valid criticisms, but they also have released the source for the bridges to each service so that tech savvy people can set up their own service using a different Matrix app.

It’s useful for me as an easy way to stay connected with the various contacts on those platforms (until Beeper I was prepared to just go radio silent on them), while still maintaining a degree of separation with Facebook.

Heck yeah! That’s an excellent change.

Canceled or significantly changed flights: Passengers will be entitled to a refund if their flight is canceled or significantly changed, and they do not accept alternative transportation or travel credits offered.

This is good also, that way passengers that just want to complete their journey can accept the delay or flight change.

It’s further good that it’s automatic, but you already know that airlines are going to push hard on passengers with notifications that say “accept [our preferred alternative] NOW while it’s still available” without mentioning that the refund is automatic, if they can get away with it.

I don’t know how we can simulate conditions for everyone to understand the plight of homelessness. I’d want anyone and everyone who thinks that homelessness is just people making bad choices and being lazy, to go live in a tent in 30F/0C weather for a week getting kicked out every other day and try to hold down a job.

Been thinking about it again too, would Black be able to make his first $300 even if he had the mental and physical fatigue he had at 10 months of the experiment? Also even if he did, without his lucky break where he even generously got access to an RV to sleep in and a computer to work on (rather than having to constantly worry about shelter space as he has been), would he even be able to achieve anything close to what he did?

You know, this would be good evidence to present that giving everyone access to the things Black got (an RV to stay in temporarily for free, a decent phone and plan and the rich person side of American health care), would allow people better mobility out of their situations.

Look what happened 10 months in though. Say hypothetically a poor person did all the same things Black did and kind of made it for themselves. They go in to see the doctor, they find out their dad has cancer and they have autoimmune issues. If they were to actually address their health situation at that point with only the funds they had amassed, they’d get fucked by the American Healthcare Debt Extraction system.

Not to mention all the other ways things go wrong, such as getting laid off. Without a million dollars to fallback on, many either can’t take the same risks, and many others do but that causes them to fall back to square one.

The latter makes drug and insurance companies bank though. Fixing it for the benefit of American residents’ health would harm these companies, and we know who’s more important in the eyes of the American healthcare system.
