Tip or don’t tip, don’t ever feel like there’s an expectation to. Not always but I often leave 1-3 bucks in change usually when I check out, especially so if say the floor or bed gets a bit sandy or I check out at 11:10, something like that.

The person handing them out, passing the fake bills off as real money to the homeless(even as a donation) is the illegal thing. Spending a counterfeit bill without having known it was fake is not illegal in the US afaik, but you can still be arrested for it because the police don’t have to believe that you didn’t know.

Counterfeit is something that looks close enough that someone could believe it’s something it isn’t.

Hollywood money has to look real at a distance, the fact it says “not legal tender” in small print doesn’t make it not possible to be used as a counterfeit. If it’s crumpled or folded up, the obvious tells that it’s fake might be hidden. A person with poor eyesight or numb fingers can’t sense it well. When mixed in a pile of change and 1 dollar bills it can be missed.

Someone intentionally donating movie money to the homeless is using those bills as counterfeit bills. And that person then attempting to buy something with it is passing counterfeit currency, knowingly or not.

The open-source solution is affixing your credit card (or an “additional cardholder” card) to the back of your phone.

Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay are the ones I know of. My bank’s app used to be able to do mobile payments but they stopped unfortunately. Banks bristle at the fact there could be open source solutions to anything in the financial sector, it could take away from their upcharging and parasitism.

It’s nice that he can run a one person show. It might be more variety of work but dealing with insurance paperwork sounds like a second job in itself.

I think if more primary care physicians can go back to a no insurance, flat-fee model and insurance is saved for urgent, emergency, specialized and long term care then Americans can live healthier and save money (neither of which is good in the eyes of for-profit healthcare and insurance), doctors and general practitioners will actually do what they enjoy and all around increase the efficiency of healthcare in the US.

Terminal games are where it’s at, lol. In high school I’ve made connect4, battleship and a couple card games in C.

Once I took a Mexican Train domino game code I made in C, ported it to Java, then added graphics that showed everything nicely, but clicking on anything just had it pass a number you would have typed to do the action in the terminal UI version.
