At mine we’re currently in the process of firing them lmao. Since we’re unionized it will take my employer over a year to fire us.

Turns out it’s difficult to fire unionized employees who have stellar year end reviews. They’ll still fire us but they’ll have wasted millions and millions of dollars to do it. And most of us will have better remote jobs by the end of it all.

From an access to information request, I was able to obtain the documents related to the decision to undo the 4-year long WFH decision. It ultimately came down to corporate real estate values. Many pensions within my country are heavily invested in corporate real estate.

If downtowns were to lose traffic to businesses and people stopped being in office, the values would decrease over 40% and these pension funds would be on the verge of collapsing, with high political and economic consequences.

I’m Jewish and I feel meh. There was always a lot of pressure to continue practicing Judaism throughout my life because our numbers are so small and we’re the butt end of conspiracy theories and discrimination from all walks of life and have been for thousands of years.

I’m not religious and don’t believe in any sort of god so I guess I’m responsible for killing my religion and culture I guess. I can relate to the sense of camaraderie in finding another person with the same shared lived experiences in the wild, but I don’t know how much I can relate to the tribes you mentioned.

I’m not concerned as much about my culture dying out because life and everything in it is ultimate meaningless :)

It took me 6months of playing around my organizations M365 tenant to become very proficient in the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) to the point where my last 2 jobs have all been related to solutions and training with M365.

All I do is use these tools and show other people how to do their work in it and all of a sudden I’m employable and in demand.

It’s not even really IT.

I’ve had my first downside with flatpak.

VSCode’s flatpak version won’t let you use certain packages because they’re installed on the system and flatpak is a sandbox with no access. You need to enable some stuff but I’m far too lazy to troubleshoot that shit.

I got the Snap version so I’m ready for the hate.
