[Corp Blog] Ultimate guide to the 19 best secure, encrypted, and private email services (adguard.com)

In an article discussing secure email services, the need for data protection online is emphasized due to personal details in emails being vulnerable to hackers. Encrypted secure email is recommended for its ability to turn emails into code readable only with a special key, ensuring data privacy and trust-building. The article...

How is the Protonmail mobile client compared to fastmail? Just asking in case someone has used both.

I really like Fastmail though. So many useful features everywhere and it’s very fast.

I realize I have no privacy from governments however. Fastmail is part of 5 eyes pact.

I hate YouTube videos.

If this was an article, it could be read quickly and with no annoying YouTube influencer in my face.

The description is not written like a blog post, because it assumes the user will watch the video.

There is usually no point even reading it.

This is how I remember windows yes. Pop-ups, disruptions, annoyances, and ads.

People think it’s normal until they try Pop OS.

Aren’t they? I just use steam and it works. Most games are great on Linux these days. Just need to check Protondb for each game.

We will see how this plays out… Terraform is awesome but the product would not be very popular today if open source developers hadn’t worked for 10 years for free to maintain and update it.

Now they take all their work and decides it’s not open source anymore, because hashicorp needs to make money.

1984 ,
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

I used pulumi but it’s much worse than terraform. I didn’t used to think so before I learned terraform however.

My main reason to dislike pulumi is that you have to work around it’s async behavior in python. Maybe it’s better and more natural if you use typescript, but I had to constantly wrap methods in Outputs and other things to get the code to work.

I had to adapt my code to how pulumi worked all the time. With terraform, I just write it and it works.

1984 ,
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Not so “just”. Terraform open source version went into a fork. Who will work on that one and who will continue with the hashicorp version? It’s a split in the community now, and I bet most devs will continue on the hashicorp version.

I would love more command & conquer games. There hasn’t been anything new in a long time that has that feeling of collecting resources and building bases and troops.

If it was saline, how come people got sick taking it?

People at work were always sick after they took the vaccine.

I think it’s arrogance that is the default condition. Specially if you are educated, because now you feel confident your opinions are correct, and others are wrong and must be stupid.

This is mostly why people don’t get along very well. Everyone thinks they are right and they have this need to fight people who says something differently.

Massive downvotes with no comments is a sign of this behavior.

1984 ,
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Downvoting is the lazy version of that…just press a button if you don’t agree with something. It’s a bit like giving reviews to people based on what you think about what they write.

Microsoft is like the daddy most users need I guess.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

So much drama. Anyone still using Windows must not dislike the behavior enough to switch.

I’ve used Linux for over 10 years now because I disliked this Microsoft culture even back then with Windows 8 or whatever it was back then. Why are people still using Windows today when Linux is easier than ever?

Windows 7 was a good OS, it tended to not spy on the user. You can see the difference in installation options if you put it into a virtual machine and run it. Compare with today’s windows.

Then compare Linux distros 10 years ago with current ones. Only gotten easier to use and much better looking.

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Linux never prevents you from installing anything. What distro was this and what happened? :)

I mean, EU to a degree also, but as far as tech companies making browsers go, I don’t know who else can be trusted.

You think we have reached the ultimate desktop experience?

1984 OP ,

That delay can be removed with plugins so its instant but I agree - adding delays makes no sense to me either.

And yeah I havent used windows or macs in a long time now.

I’m the same, never drank zero for the same reasons and I pick ordinary sugar when I drink soda (not often).

I also don’t use fluoride in toothpaste and that’s another thing people think is weird. But my teeth are absolutely fine after over 20 years of doing this. I use kingfisher tooth paste without fluoride.

You don’t need a subscription for instances to stay around long term - you need to use them. Instances without users shut down, naturally.

Instance owners don’t do this to get rich or have someone else pay the bills I believe. They just want users.

And I think many of us hate subscriptions. :)

I did not enjoy The Killing Of A Sacred Deer (3.bp.blogspot.com)

The music/ambience was not my cup of tea. It was very cliché and did not add to the creepiness of the movie. It would have been better with more/mostly silence I feel. It’s used overabundantly and that cheapens any effect it might’ve had. Also it’s kinda just shrieky....

It only depends on what you eat, not your age.

And if you do maybe 3 sets of 30 push-ups every 2-3 days for 15 mins, you will have muscular arms at age 50 or more.

It’s not even hard once you get used to it. Muscles help burn food as well, so it’s a win win.

People think they need to go to the gym. It’s not so at all.

Somehow started a calisthenics community on my instance a few days ago. If you want to get fit, you can ask the mod there also.

I’m starting at 8.30 and stopping at around 16.

Work smart, not hard. :)

I will stop using Linux / PC for 10 months. What do you think will happen in that period?

Long story short, this year is my exam preparation year and due to my nature I will take extreme measures to prevent distraction and focus on studying. I will decommision my PC, stop browsing Linux & tech related websites and leave this beautiful place called Lemmy. To make things clear, I am not influenced by anyone for doing...

We all just rent stuff now and it’s super annoying since the company decides when the rent is over, not us. Despite paying for the service each month, we have no say in what stays and what disappears.
