I want one that has the dog from duck hunt pop up and laugh when you buy a cheap piece of shit from China.

What pops up in the other situation? When you buy an overpriced cheap piece of shit from china?

Landmammals , in CheapGuilty™ A hypothetical Amazon feature that disables "high-to-low" filter if you are cheap 😅

If you set the filter high to low you can choose the right amount of cheap.

lurch , in CheapGuilty™ A hypothetical Amazon feature that disables "high-to-low" filter if you are cheap 😅

the search in amazon is so bad that you sometimes need high to low: some searches get you so much cheap unrelated trash, you have to sort high to low, and page down so you find the actual cheapest match quicker.

Default sort: 237 matches

Sort by price (either way): 17 matches

So uhhhh… What happened to the other 220 results?

Amazon search is trash and you might as well google it like you had to do with reddit search.

noobnarski ,

The best thing is, if you sort low to high, after the 2nd or 3rd page it just completely breaks and starts showing items randomly.

cmnybo , in CheapGuilty™ A hypothetical Amazon feature that disables "high-to-low" filter if you are cheap 😅

Amazon’s search is the worst. It doesn’t really matter what filters you use, they are only going to show you what they want to.

You could just go to theast page 😎

Waiting for a computer causes a temporal bubble to surround the subjects and age them at a rate of x100

ca. 150’000’000’0000 CPU cycles.

Downcount ,

Yeah, also each query request was a human beeing. Such an unrealistic comic.

owen ,

Not to mention, mysql is a database management framework, while in the comic it’s a food stand! Absurd!

RustyNova ,

Not queries, programs. They have pid

Downcount ,

Shoot, you are right wrong. They are processes.

RustyNova ,

Ah FUCK- mind said process, fingers typed program. But most of the time they are equivalent

Downcount ,

The thing is, at first I actually, responded with “you are right”. See, humans make errors. Also, this isn’t a competence competition. (At least I hope so.)

If a query does not take 30 min does it even exist?

The waiting is how you know its giving you correct answers.

Exactly lol. If it’s instant you know you fucked up

Crashumbc ,

I worked on an enterprise wide medical record system for seventeen years.

It had 10000 tables in the schema. Our particular setup populated 1500 of them. ( yes I meant tables).

8+plus happened…

:(

rimjob_rainer ,

So are you using FHIR yet?

Crashumbc ,

Lol, is funny you ask. I mainly worked on interfaces.

The medical industry makes the banking industry look nimble.

The organization had a couple interfaces using the protocol when I left. But adoption is slow, just about everyone still uses HL7. But it has been a couple years.

rimjob_rainer ,

I asked because I’ve been working in the same field for 10 years, interfaces as well. You can count our FHIR interfaces on one hand, the rest is DICOM, HL7 or proprietary.

FurbiesAndBeans ,

It’s fine if they’re indexed correctly…

I worked at a place where I did the not-funny-but-serious-and-banal version of this bit, including the burnout breakdown at the end. I’m working on ERP systems now and it’s a lot less stressful, plus things just have normal names like “Accounting Module” or “Third Party X Service Connector”.

I did love Galactus though
