It was unwitting Americans who for 8 months claimed that Joe Biden was the forgone conclusion, and that we all just needed to shut up and fall in line behind a guy who hadn’t polled above 45% for over 600 days.
Some of yall sure af ain’t immune to propaganda, thats for god damn sure.
Look at the disarray that the Trump campaign has fallen into now that they aren’t facing Biden. It was obviously to literally everyone outside of a bubble of idiots, the magnitude of the idiocy of the decision to both not have a real primary, and to unquestionably corronate a guy who has never been very popular as president. If you were advocating for that position, you were doing the job of Russia for them: to get the weakest possible candidate so their boy Trump could win again.
And they almost did it. And it doesn’t mean that all of us we’re the target. These days, propaganda is going to be ultra-focused, narrow, and individually tailored, not to slobs like you or I, but to the Pelosis, and Schumers, and actual weilders of agency and power. If a corporate excec can get spear fished as easily as they seem to, why not a boomer ass politician? Or a newscaster or cable news talking head? Think about how Fox news during has become a channel with an audience of effectively one (djt).
So when you see these things, just ask yourself, “who is benefiting”? It served Russias interests to have Joe as candidate.
I’m mostly talking about people like @JimSamtanko , who outted themselves in this thread, and others that I’ll not list because they haven’t engaged. But also, yes, its very very very reasonable to think that Russia would focus and define its propaganda to specific people in positions of power such that the outcomes are in Russia’s interest.
Propaganda isn’t flyers falling from the sky; its a carefully cultivated resources at a major media outlet advocating that “We can’t replace Joe Biden as candidate”. Its creating a media landscape around one specific individual such that you control the reality they think they live in.
I (or you or anyone else) can literally buy ads that follow a person around the internet where ever they go to purchase a specific product. Why couldn’t I do the same around a media narrative? If you were a state-level campaign working to engineer specific outcomes, don’t you think you would take advantage of tools like that?
Hey bud, if you’re going to summon me by name- it’s best you have you shit straight. Because I bring receipts.
First off… I’m going to ask you to explain exactly what you think I’ve outed myself about, and I want full details and no strawman bullshit where you change the topic to some nonsense that never happened. Put up or shut up.
Second-
Bro, you have a reputation here. You whined and cried every anti-Biden propaganda you could come up with. And when one didn’t work, you adopted another. I noticed you stopped with the genocide bullshit right after his speech. And I’m not the only one. Imagine that… we were right how you didn’t give a shit all along.
It was all about removing Biden.
And you’re damn right I was right behind Biden all the way. I don’t hide that shit. Being anti-fascist is something I’m very proud of. I’d STILL be behind him if he didn’t drop out because protecting democracy from Trump is the only America option most of us have- and that is because we’re not entitled arrogant little kids running around pretending at politics like our choices don’t matter to other fucking people.
I was behind Biden 100% and I’m now beind Harris 100%. Because that is what adults do. We know that ae’re playing with live ammo bud.
This isn’t a game. Lives are at stake.
So you can puff out your chest and stomp around pretending to be a hero for mouthing off to people that know WAY more about this than you do- but in the end, it’s clear no one is taking you seriously here.
Your comment history and mod logs prove you’re little more than a troll- and that’s not me saying it- the mod logs do.
I don’t give a shit dude. When I see liars and bullshit artists, I call them out. You are both.
You’ve been working your ass off to support a Russian assets political pursuit of the presidency, but I really don’t think you know what you were doing. I don’t think you think you are acting in bad faith. I give you the charity that you’re just a wildly, wildly mistaken and propagandized to idiot who needs healing.
Its charity that I call you a useful idiot and not something far worse.
I don’t think they should be deleting your posts. I think we need to keep the shit you say on display. I want to hold you accountable and when they delete the bullshit you spew, that makes my job harder (but not impossible).
No one needed propaganda to decide to vote against trump and the insane republicans who back him.
It could have been that 122 year old ham they have on display in the Isle of Wight museum in Smithfield VA running against trump and I’d be voting for an old salty ham.
Many people choose to live in neighborhoods with an HOA and I don’t see why they should be forbidden to do that. “I know what’s good for you better than you do” ought to require a high burden of proof.
I still have compassion for those who live a HOA and then go on to complain because choosing to live there is a complex decision involving many factors. In some parts of the country, there might be no options to practically avoid a HOA.
“I know what’s good for you” is precisely the ethos of the HOA. I’d have less compassion if housing wasn’t such a tight commodity. In that case, it’s a choice. But I think in the current market it doesn’t always feel like one.
I don’t think an outright ban is the right answer either.
All fine and dandy until HOAs are all that’s available and you’re paying $100s per month to one of the handful of major developers in the country that built the neighborhood and coincidentally still controls the HOA. Ever been to Florida?
Not necessarily. I know a guy who lives in a rural area and still somehow managed to find a house with an HOA, because he wanted access to shared amenities. Beyond that, HOA rules would ideally be like an agreement that I won’t be a bad neighbor to you if you won’t be a bad neighbor to me. It does seem like HOA boards attract petty people, but only the very worst will get in the news while the normal ones quietly do their thing.
(Also, it appears that the lemonade stand in the article wasn’t actually violating the HOA rules.)
I’ve actually seen that HOAs fared the worst after stuff like the 2007 crash and took much longer to rebound versus non-HOA properties.
I’ll never understand how banning shit like pickup trucks in driveways has any effect on property values. It’s not like they’re permanent fixtures that persist from one owner to the next.
It’s a mistaken belief that cookie cutter housing is something people actually want as opposed to being something forced upon them since that’s all that’s built nowadays.
Can’t be cookie cutter if you can see differences in the front yard.
Authorities say that HOA members first summoned police due to reports of “children running an illegal lemonade stand on county right of way.”
When the sheriff’s deputies arrived, they “found that the children were not blocking the roadway but did ask them to move back from the road a few feet for their safety.”
Thinking the matter was resolved, the officers then moved on to other calls about parking issues in the area, only to head back to the scene of the stand when the “original reporting parties came out and began yelling at the children claiming they were on private property.”
As the refreshment row reached fever pitch, the officers discovered that the children running the stand themselves lived within the HOA and that the lemonade pushers “had a right to be there” on the association’s communally held property, leaving the wayward youths to continue their street war against scurvy.
Run for your local HOA to dismantle and disband it if you have one. Make it your platform and every person who’s ever gotten a petty ticket from a nosy nobody will vote for you.
In this area there’s a HOA but most of the people who live here are renters and don’t get a say. This leads to strange regulations that are sometimes impossible to follow.
This right here is the answer. HOAs usually have fairly complicated rules, but they’re absolutely are and are required to be bylaws that dictate the operation of the HOA, how board members are elected, what responsibility is the HOA has to the residents, etc. A big part of why HOAs get out of control is because the only people who bother to serve on their boards are the busybodies you least want in charge of your HOA. So simple solution, run and get yourself and your friends elected. Then then when you have power over the HOA, push through a bylaw amendment that significantly restricts the HOA’s authority and makes it very difficult to get it back. IE, The HOA may not create any new rule or regulation or penalty governing what people do on their private property without an in-person vote at a meeting where at least 90% of the residents personally show up and vote yes, however the president or board may remove any such regulations or penalties at will.
Or if you have support, just push through a charter amendment that says the HOA ceases to exist on some specific date and releases all CC&Rs for all governed properties.
Figure out how to get elected. Get elected under the 'if you don’t like the way the HOA is run, vote for me, my friend, and their friend!’ platform, and then change the fucking rulebook to your liking.
I can just hear the guy laughing his ass off while writing this story about the most petty individuals on the face of the fucking planet.
Honestly, if some dick cheese were harassing my kids about their lemonade stand, they would be unwittingly be subscribing to a life time supply of a burning paper bag full of dog shit on their doorstep.
This whole “Trump is weird ‘attack’” is so milquetoast. Austin is weird. The Guardians of the Galaxy are weird. Weird Al Yankovic is weird. Donald Trump isn’t weird. He’s a dangerous criminal being manipulated by the Russians. This is not the time to be silly.
