Why not blame the Democrat Party? They have refused to entertain the idea that no one really wanted Biden to run again until now, with hardly anytime to get people on board with anyone else. They have done barely fuck-all to get people interested in voting for them no matter who the candidate was as well.

It’s every person and institution that shielded the voters from the reality of Biden’s mental decline who should be blamed. These enablers ought to be charged with crimes against the US for election interference.

Companies sell life insurance. Actuaries determine how much a policy costs. They can also determine what is most likely to have been a person's lifetime earnings based on a variety of metrics about that person.
An actuary should be able to look at who Sandra Hemme was at 20 years old, and make a determination of what her lifetime earnings would have been if she had not gone to prison. The State should pay her that amount.
The fact that they’re so mad about this makes me think that Biden was a much weaker incumbent than I realized, and that the choice to replace him was the right one.
And maybe withdrawing so late might not be as bad after all. Sure, it’s going to be tough for dems to rework their campaign, but it’s going to be tough for reps as well when their campaign revolved around Biden.
I went hard for Biden because I was genuinely worried there would be chaos in finding a new candidate that would make it impossible to sort it out and run an effective campaign in the time left. It looks like I was wrong and I’m so fucking happy about that.
Harris is the right candidate - part of the same administration, so she can run on the same record which is pretty damn solid. I’m excited for the future.

How is this church acting like it is above the law in this specific instance?
It used the legal system to get a preliminary injunction against the enforcement of town land use code. Seems like it followed the law and the process is playing out as intended.
This church is trying to provide houses for homeless people. Christianity started out being pretty unpopular with the law but that hasn’t stopped them because laws don’t define morality. I suppose if you don’t want the church housing the homeless you can always invite them to your house.
This is one of the few instances I’m in favor of a church breaking the law. That law is unjust anyway and Jesus in the new testament consistently preaches that we should care for the sick, the needy and the homeless.
I’m pretty sure the DNC and it’s donors helped force this hand, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they field a different candidate.
That being said, I’d actually like to see a non shill run who will actually fulfill his promises with legislation and not half ass executive orders that die after 5 seconds.

I think they’ll err on the side of appeasing people who are on some level uncomfortable with minorities and women and run some generic straight white man.
