Even then, people seeing your downvoted comment here will not make people leave. People here are well aware that this is federated and that there are multiple instances (except, in your case, you seem to have forgotten that you could just stay on lemmy.ml communities, or block lemmy.world). They aren’t going to see your judgmental, main character syndrome comments and suddenly change their tune.
I also find it interesting that nothing in your first comment said anything that could let other users know that there are other options. I can’t find anything so noble as to warn other users about anything in it… almost like it wasn’t your original motivation.

So long as businesses continue to develop capital projects that demand human labor, people will continue to migrate to the capital in order to secure livable wages. These policies are far more in line with a state that’s actively gentrifying and wants to force low-wage residents out than one that’s afraid it can’t get high wage professionals to move in.
The low wage workers who they are trying to drive out make the place attractive to be a high wage earner. No high wage earner wants to live somewhere they can’t reliably order a pizza or go out for a drink, which is what you get if all the low wage people leave.
Exactly, I said Biden was too old immediately when he announced he would run again. That was true then, it was true during the primaries and it’s true now IMO.
But he did win the primaries, and nothing that wasn’t 100% foreseeable has changed since then regarding Biden’s age. Forcing a replacement now is undemocratic.

When there’s a sitting president it’s tradition for nobody serious to run against them for bullshit unity reasons - Biden could have encouraged competition but he chose to lock it down and avoid any real contest.
