Unfortunate but this is the truth. Too many of us have been accustomed to small luxuries like “affording takeout”, but we unfortunately have been priced out of being able to afford stuff like this.
It’s a tough pill to swallow if you’ve been doing it your whole life and think that a functioning adult with a full-time job should be able to afford some takeout every now and again. We are not the generation that gets to enjoy that privilege, it seems.

For the time, maybe. But the few times slavery is mentioned in the NT the focus is on treatment of slaves, not abolition. And even then, for slave owners who didn’t follow Christian teachings, slaves were basically told to suck it up and get back to work (1Peter 2:18). Paul appears to free Onesimus in the book of Philemon (although I can’t tell if his intended meaning is literal), and it’s also worth noting that Christian nations were the first to abolish chattel slavery, but it’d be a stretch to say the Bible directly discourages slavery.
Actually, the first nation to abolish chattel slavery was Haiti, which was NOT a Christian nation at the time. The country as we know it today was literally founded through a successful slave revolt!

If you dont post then that doesnt matter. For me a clean UI where I see what I want to see is the best. Which synch offers. If you want to see different things then cool, use a different app. But people constantly bashing synch are just annoying.

Uhhh, I’m a Xennial and this hits hard. I am basically paying for her mortgage with the amount of money I have to give my ex every month. She has always had zero ambition, so I was always getting raises, and by the time we split, our finances were in two very different places, so the court said I have the luxury of paying her monthly just to be rid of her.
You got screwed then if you’re in the usa, spousal alimony is basically non-existent. Most states don’t have it anymore and those that do have it for about a year.
I’m well aware of how screwed I got… I’m hoping that in the next year or so I’ll be able to re-litigate with a different lawyer. I was so desperate to get out of that marriage, I took some bad advice.
My biggest problem is that my life hasn’t been the most stable since I left her. The sick amount of money I have to give her every month certainly hasn’t helped.
