I moved to Linux Mint fairly recently but still dual boot for a couple of programs that require Windows. I avoid Windows when I can but I like to play The Sims 4 and want to play it on Linux so I tried to install it on Steam (I own it on EA but it’s free on Steam right now and I haven’t been able to get Bottles to run the EA...

I just found out that sometime in the last month or so while doing regular updates Wine got bumped to 8.12… (likely from 8.0) and my games have gone haywire: Neverwinter Nights and Diablo2 would kind of start but then halt. Switching to desktop and back unblocks games for the next few seconds and then things repeat....

So I’ve rebooted my Debian computer, having installed, run, and used Lutris to run a GOG game. It worked fine....

I have it on steam but I realized it’s on gog. Not having to reinstall my mods ever (unless I want to) is worth buying the game again....

Reading up on some of the more recent posts regarding VR on Linux, I’m wondering if anyone can give a quick rundown of the actual state of VR gaming on Linux for users of WMR headsets like the HP Reverb G2....

I mean, the title really says it all. It occurs seemingly at random, but not all the time and I’ve been unable to determine any pattern to it… I’m using the latest proton stable version and pipewire-pulse for audio. Any ideas on how to fix it?
