I’d like to try the new Assassin’s Creed and Avatar, but they’re not on Steam - which is how I play almost every other game on Linux. I know I might be able to install Uplay games using Lutris, but I’m not sure if the experience is as smooth as Steam + Proton....
I’m new to Linux, using Kubuntu. I got Left 4 Dead 1 installed from Steam and I’m using Proton 8.0. I get an error saying “An error occurred while launching this game: invalid app configuration”. Is there a launch option I should be using? Something else?
I’m newer to Linux gaming, but the consensus I’ve seen is that AMD is better on Linux. Will these actions change your mind? I already have Nvidia hardware, so an open source kernel module sounds like a win.
I have 2 relevant drives. The system drive, and a drive with my game files. The drive with the game files is mounted. However, it is not displayed under “Other devices” and I am unable to select it from /dev/...
I added a custom session to my display manager which starts Gamescope with the Steam Deck UI. This works great mostly, but exiting it is a challenge....
I was offered an Intel Arc graphics card, but I couldn’t find any information about how they work with Linux that was less than 7 months old. Any of you know how well Arc GPUs are currently working on Linux?
I set up Steam Link on my raspberry pi to try and do some couch gaming over the holiday… but its no bueno. I am on a 5600x/6700xt with wayland on linux, and steam is up to date....
Note that I’ve linked the latest version at the time of writing this (3.0.2), the original 3.0 version with its changelog is available here: github.com/LostArtefacts/TR1X/releases/tag/3.0...
A request that was asked since these games apparently run better on Windows. Vermintide 2 is about 20% faster on Linux and Doom Eternal about 20% faster on Windows.
