Ahoy - I am as green as green can be when it comes to using any Linux OS, so please forgive any ignorance, I am learning as I go, I only installed this yesterday and I have zero Linux experience....
What controller do you recommend for steam gaming? Is the ps5 controller good? I heard the Xbox controller had some latency issues. I’ve been using the ps4 controller and have noticed a slight amount of latency.
Title. Turning off the fancy effects (which can be done with Alt+Shift+F12) improves performance slightly, but having to toggle them on and off every time I start a game is… Y’know. A thing....
With the use of Heroic game launcher, I’m wondering if you all preferred to play your GOG version of games over the Steam version. I can go either way but sometimes I pause and think, having two copies of the same game, one on steam and one on GOG, which one would give me a better gaming experience. For example, I may choose...
But I’ve spent most of the time tweaking and setting up and downloading stuff rather than actually playing. Games seem to work really well. Not doing benchmarking but I really like how stable the framerate is when frame cap is in place. So far everything I’ve tried was absolutely buttery smooth.
Basically I was able to play Cyberpunk on my Nobara setup (N37, KDE, Nvidia 10180ti, Intel i5 CPU) but everything went sideways when I upgraded from kernel version 6.2.14-300 to 6.3.5-201 (and still have issues despite several upgrades since then and now on 6.3.12 I think)....
Good morning lemmites, I just installed nobara on my aging gaming laptop, hoping to get a few more years out of it and potentially hook it up as a capture device for my desktop. Most of the process has been seamless but there are a few outliers. First being that I had an issue getting the version of Steam working off of the...
Hey, Recently bought 2 new PS5 controllers to play on PC(BazziteOS), that’s connected to a TV. I have the controllers connected to my network card (TP-Link Archer TX50E), that supports Bluetooth 5.0. However, while the PC is only 3 meters away from the TV and the couch, the controllers keep falling out due to bad connectivity....
I was always on Linux since Varsity but two years ago when I bought a gaming Laptop, it had Windows 11 on and worked great. I thought I would give it a chance and it was great especially for gaming. Luckily a lot of the open source software I was used to were available on windows. I also liked some of the Linux tools like the...
I’m running nobara currently as my distro, but these issues persist after trying Pop!_OS and several other distros with help from forums etc. Be it pure WINE, Proton, or Lutris installs across multiple distros and drivers, the game will work perfectly for the first run. Afterwards, the game will immediately crash after...
I built a PC for the family yesterday, and I’m hoping to get away with going 100% Linux. What makes me a little nervous is that Epic Games, GOG, battle.net, EA store, etc don’t officially support Linux. If I try using Lutris, or Heroic Games Launcher, or something similar to use those platforms, is there a chance my account...
After too much time spent on google I finally found this lightweight GUI + CLI tool that finds locally installed games (yes including non-steam games running under proton) and thought I’d spread the gospel!...
I am a grumpy old man that is/was pissed that we aren’t getting a “real” Baldurs Gate 3, but as it gets close to release I am sadly getting excited about it....
I’m old-naughties internet café crew from around the era of the original Counter Strike through CoD MWF3 and Battlefield 2042. I wouldn’t mind reliving the nostalgia of that era, and have more than enough machine to do it now. I have zero tolerance for micro transactions, gatekeeping, or software as a service business...
