I think it’s great that this has been captioned so deaf people can appreciate it too

lauha ,

Someone should transcribe it so blind people could too

Glowstick ,

Great idea! Accessibility matters!

lauha ,

Someone should sign language it so mutes could listen to it.

Not a millenial but the only time i get an iron out is to declump the pocket flaps on my flannel shirts

dave ,

I’m pretty sure ‘Declump pocket flaps’ is in section 1 of the Apollo Launch Configuration checklist, right before Lint Valve Override.

Sam_Bass ,

Could be but mine are forever earthbound

You’re welcome

Yeah, it definitely rehashed the trope, but I still think that movie is underrated.

Swedneck ,
@Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de avatar

It’s the movie equivalent of a hot dog: completely uninspired but quick and easy to digest and plenty enjoyable (especially for the price), and after you’ve ate it you basically just forget it and you still have room for proper food if you want.

Etterra , in Rock Eagle Flag

It’s not Americans; the overwhelming majority of all citizens of all political affiliations want gun control. Like 80 to 90%. The politicians who are in the pocket of the gun lobby are the reason. They absolutely refuse to get anything fucking done and we hate it.

kameecoding ,

I doubt it’s that little given that even lemmy has a fair few gun nuts

aesthelete , (edited )

Probably has fair few bots, foreign actors looking to stir up shit, and a half dozen corporate shills looking to alter public opinion as well.

Edit: Nevermind. You’re right, downvoting guys. You’re all definitely humans arguing in good faith on this platform where all i needed to join was to pick a username and password. 😆

I’m Gen-X and I hate to break it to you, we had permanent press well before we had Millennials.

If push comes to shove, I sprinkle some water on my clothes and run them in the dryer for a few minutes. The wrinkles are gone.

muzzle , in Help me out here

No clue, but I would start by not referring to them as females, just a hunch.

ssj2marx , in Ironing

Hey now, some of us like to iron patches onto our jackets of things we like!

Spezi ,

There are fairly cheap handheld heat presses on amazon that have way more even heat distribution and are superb for patches and vinyl transfer.

knightly ,
@knightly@pawb.social avatar

I have to go back over and stitch in the edges on all my iron-on patches, might have to look into that if they’ll do a better job.

“BuT gUns doNt kilL PeoPle, PeoPle kilL PeoPle”

Then regulate fucking people’s access to guns! It’s not that hard.

Xephonian ,

Problem is, gun are useful.
They protect our children.
They protect our food supply.
They protect our freedom.

And people have been killing each other for centuries before guns were invented. Thinking that guns are the reason for death is clearly propaganda. But you all know that. I’m just here to point out what actual reality looks like. Since none of you have ever touched grass.

Jimmyeatsausage ,

Guns don’t protect children. They’re the leading cause of death in children.

I have no idea what you’re talking about with protecting food…hunting? Not how most people get their food. Most people get food from a grocery store…where they’re increasingly likely to get shot.

If the freedom line was in reference to the military, there’s hardly a vet alive who’s done that… they’re all dead from old age. The only wars we’ve been fighting were for revenge or resources. I say that as a vet.

If you’re talking about protecting us from our government…as far as I know, nobody has even won an armed confrontation with the police or feds over freedoms. Guns made Waco worse. Guns made Ruby Ridge worse. I guess the Bundy’s protected their “right” to steal from taxpayers by grazing their cattle on public land without paying for it like they should have. That feels like a less important right than “life” to me personally.

aesthelete ,

Problem is, gun are useful.

Problem is, people are stupid.

Which is evidenced by both your shitty grammar, and tired argument.

stoy ,

I have had to say this many times lately, just because something is propaganda, doesn’t automatically make it false.

The best propaganda is the truth.

Since you clearly have no idea of how propaganda works.

barsquid ,

This comment history is a neat little museum of bad takes.

posting_enjoyer ,

oof, no kidding. lotta branworms in that museum.

barsquid ,

I like when they surprise me. “Capitalism perfect, guns good, diversity bad,” builds up a sort of caricature. Then that is completely broken with the weird digression, “HTTPS is bad and imperfect, throw it all out.”

beebarfbadger ,

Cars are useful. Cars protect children in many situations. Cars are among the things that majorly contribute to even having a food supply. Cars freedom patriotism eagles liberty-gasm!

Yet it is still possible to have cars serve those functions without giving in to the lobbies that wish to make it mandatory to get paid for shoving a car down the throat of every loony who wants one to hurt others with. Because cars are well regulated to make them as safe as possible.

Olgratin_Magmatoe ,

Because cars are well regulated to make them as safe as possible.

While this is debatable, the regulation of cars is still a useful allegory for gun regulation.

uis ,

Because cars are well regulated to make them as safe as possible.

Usually for those inside, not outside

Demuniac ,

I live in the Netherlands. No one I know owns a gun. Yet I have all the things you list in abundance. Added bonus: lack of school shootings and gun violence.

Your propaganda argument is nothing but you sticking your head in the sand. That, or you are a successful troll.

Jank ,

But how do you deal with the horrors of all that communism?

Is it not a terrifying wasteland with less… consumer goods? I would die without my Kit Kat flavored Trix cereal.

uis ,

I knew two people from Ukraine who had guns. Now I know only one. Another died from COVID.

mojofrododojo ,

Since none of you have ever touched grass.

you really are deranged.

Guns don’t protect shit. Get that through your fucking melon.

People with weapons protect countries. They’re trained and equipped just for that purpose, we call it a military, you bellend. Probably couldn’t pass an asvab, obviously you’ve never been in the mud. Touch grass? JFC…

VelvetStorm , in Ironing

I definitely have clothes I still need to iron. If I don’t iron some of my button downs, they have a lot of wrinkles and look bad.

blackn1ght , in Ironing

Unfortunately the kids school uniform needs ironing, and my t-shirts are always way more creased when they dry on the washing line outside than when they’ve been in the drier.

Honytawk ,

Nah they don’t. No clothing needs ironing.

Wear it for 10 minutes and they both look equally wrinkled whether they were ironed or not.

blackn1ght ,

Na, they can definitely look worse! I had one on the other day that I didn’t iron and by the end of the day it still looked terrible, more so than if it had originally been ironed.

TheFriendlyDickhead , in Galaxy S10 til the wheels come off

I recently bought the samsung A15. And even though it came out this year it still has the headphone jack. If you don’t have special use cases for your phone that you need a lot of power for I can realy recomend the low end samsung phones. They work absolutely fine. I used my last low end samsung phone for 5 years before replacing

Wizard_Pope ,
@Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world avatar

I would but all the cancer samsung packs into their goddamn OS is just too much.

Blyfh ,

Just root the phone and use LineageOS for example :D It’s what I’ve been doing and it’s great

Wizard_Pope ,
@Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah but not that many samdungs are supported by lineage officially.

answersplease77 ,

but I thought lineageOS is not compatible on samsung phones.

Blyfh ,

Oh sorry, it’s been a while since I last used Samsung phones. I’ve switched to OnePlus several years ago. But before that, I had absolutely no problem with LineageOS on Samsung. Has this changed over the years?

teamevil ,

You can’t root Qualcomm snapdragon galaxies… doubtful the A line is different

atocci ,

What’s wrong with OneUI? I like it more than stock Android these days. I know TouchWiz was the worst and most bloated Android skin out there when they were still using it, but ever since the switch to OneUI, stock Android has been playing catch-up implementing its features.

Wizard_Pope ,
@Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world avatar

Because there are so many god damn samsung apps installed that cannot be removed easily. Also their settings are abhorent looking and disorganised.

mrvictory1 ,

What’s wrong with OneUI?

Appcloud. OneUI is great if you hammer it with ADB the moment you get out from setup. Extra apps like MS stuff and Google stuff are uninstallable. (mostly; Google, Chrome and Youtube may refuse to uninstall) Appcloud needs ADB and it is very annoying.

answersplease77 ,

Yes yes yes. The unremovable bloatware junk flooding and suffocating samsung’s devices cpu , memory and ram, and draining its battery is the #1 reason that forced me to ditch samsung forever. Also how you hardly don’t get any much by rooting them compared to other manufacturers

Kolanaki , in Ironing
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

My clothes only get wrinkly if I get them wet and then let them dry being all balled up so I never really ironed even though I grew up with it being a thing. The only thing I use an iron for and the only reason I even have one, is for applying those heat-activated designs and patches (though I usually tend to also sew the patches on because that heat glue often suuuuucks).
