It’s definitely for looks. In Nz you’re not limited the same for claiming as ‘work vehicle.’ I’ve driven Toyota Corollas and Mazda 6s as work vehicles which are better vehicles in terms of boot (trunk) size, so this is definitely a ‘look at my big car’ thing.
Can’t believe that people are spreading the left-handed agenda on this apolitical shitposting sub. A hundred years ago, everyone was right-handed. But these days, the sinister left-handeds are forcing their unnatural left-handed ideology onto our children! Disgusting!
I think lokipagan has confounded the ability to see a corpse with whether you can see a corpse at the moment. In an L shaped pool I can see the corpse going in or out of the pool or if I near the bend. I would need a pool big enough that I don’t have the physical ability to see it or discern corpse from flotsam.
We don’t know, because theberserkingblacksmith didn’t tell us if they were ok with this. You could also put the corpse in a water tank next to the pool with a shared water flow, but that’s a different experiment. Or else sprinkle the corpse into the pool in tiny bits (i.e. micro corpses) invisible to the eye.
Plus, what if you were led to a leg of an L-shaped pool where, before you were in the building, a researcher might have put a corpse on the other leg of the L, in a way that you cannot see from your vantage point, you might decide to swim, or not swim, in said pool?
Well, people who own lots of shit had to be properly compensated for owning lots of shit, otherwise - or so we are told - “they wouldn’t invest”.
It’s funny how we’re told to “work hard” and there’s even lots of criticism of the “workshy poor” all the while the entire economic system has been changed to maximize the returns of rent-seeking (which is the single most parasitical economic activity there is) at the cost of the returns from working AND the purchasing power of said returns (because life essentials like housing are way much more expensive).
So rarely I see a job description that actually makes any fucking sense.
I used to think it was an experience issue on my side, but I’ve gone back and looked at the descriptions for the positions I’ve worked and it still makes no sense.
It’s all just generic recruitment lines about dynamic teams, managing workload, striving for the best…
Seems to be rare for places to just list the duties of the role these days, the best you get is an idea of the actual role from the “desired skills” section.
You are correct, just a bunch of generalised bs so that they can push more work unto us when needed or when shortstaffed with little to no wage increases.
Since when did people stop liking Discord? It’s still so much better than any of the chat clients that came before it. I have never had any issues with it for what I use it for.
I will never go back to the days of Skype, ventrilo, or TeamSpeak. Slow, worse ui/ux, and less feature rich from what I can remember.
I work for MS and literally every MS employee hates Teams. I would cut off my tongue before I recommend it to a friend.
The problem with Discord isn’t the program, it’s the fact that we have a million different servers now. People just don’t like having to go to a new server for every different conversation, but that’s the way they all chose to use it so it’s their own fault.
Teams is truly awful. The fact that I have seen it maintain the same general clunkiness for years at this point is crazy. When it was newer, I could overlook it somewhat and assumed that the wrinkles would get smoothed out over time, but it still feels very janky and duct-taped together. It’s functional enough for what I need it to do, but it may be my least favorite piece of software that I need to use regularly. I used Slack a few jobs ago and I miss it. It has been Teams ever since that job.
The other big issue I have with Discord is that information isn’t really indexable or able to be archived easily. Reddit developed its own issues, but at least it was great to use alongside a search engine. Discord just feels like a black hole of information in comparison. It feels like a ticking time bomb in terms of inevitable enshittification.
Bruh I use Slack for work. If Discord ever create a Enterprise oriented plan with the necessary terms for business use, it’s sure as hell I’m going to push for my company to migrate. Discords way of setting up custom channels is a godsend if you’re working on a remote first team.
Genuine question since I use Discord mostly for small groups of friends, what are you doing that is causing speed problems? I have never had Discord operate any slower than Teams an I use both daily in different environments.
Any accountant will tell you that most businesses can’t write off tax against a normal car, as it’s not a work vehicle, so they buy pickups because vans are impractical for normal use
Austrian? I think you mean Australian there mate! Trucks are much heavier, UTEs are what you Yankees call “trucks”. It’s a UTE because it’s a utility vehicle and used by tradies and farmers and the like.
