I stress about the whole damn pole. If you showed me a picture of a traffic 🚦 on pole, and asked me what it was, I would say “a traffic light” not “a traffic loght and a traffic light pole”
These are actually checking if you are a bot btw, so to pass them more quickly just don’t move like a bot would. Do shit a bot wouldnt do like clicking and unclicking something, swirl your cursor around the screen, etc.
Especially because the answers to these captchas are used to train self driving car AI, so if you fuck it up the self driving cars will crash and you will have blood on your hands :/
Try the audio captcha, those seem to have actual valid answers to them.
Funny enough, there’s an extension that solves captchas by feeding that audio through a speech recognition algorithm. If anything it’s more reliable than solving them manually
Yes, Buster Captcha Solver extension (in GitHub, Firefox, Chromium), but there are novadays also several others, which works in all type of capchas, using AI. Because of this, Captchas are obsolet since years, turning simply in annoying clickbaits. They can’t avoid bots anymore.
Well, but still works fine in reCaptchas (these are also not updated since a long time) I think it’s still valid, if you don’t use it frequently. If not, as said before, there are several alternatives which work with AI,
Whenever I get a capcha of anyone on a vehicle, I always make it a point to highlight the entirety of the driver too because I’m not going to just let Google train its self-driving vehicles to just ignore that every motorcycle has a rider on it.
It might fall back on the actual images in that instance. Captchas are a lot more advanced now. The ones where you just click “I am not a robot” use cookies to track your browser history and make sure it looks organic. Identifying images alone has gotten too easy.
Cats don’t meow at each other. Isn’t that weird? They communicate with each other in other ways, but meowing is a strictly cat->human communication behavior
That’s because cats use meowing to get attention of their mother. When cats meow at you, they’re essentially saying “parent, help me with this thing”. Usually that thing is begging for food at 5am
Meowing is an interesting vocalization in that adult cats don’t actually meow at each other, just at people. Kittens meow to let their mother know they’re cold or hungry, but once they get a bit older, cats no longer meow to other cats. But they continue to meow to people throughout their lives, probably because meowing gets people to do what they want.
There are plenty of videos that disprove what you’re saying. Cats do meow at each other, especially as a form of aggression, where it’s usually the deep and long almost growl-like meow.
From what I understand, a lot of cat vocalizations to humans like meowing and purring are primarily things kittens do that cats later stop as they grow, to communicate with their mother. They learn to continue using such vocalizations with humans because humans don’t understand their body language as readily, so they discover that, for example, a certain type of meow when hungry might remind a human to feed it, and keep doing it. This also means that the meaning of a given sound is somewhat specific to a given cat, rather than some sort of universal cat language. Or at least, this is what Ive read
STFU you can’t say I’m wrong on the internet in front of all these people who’s opinion I care deeply about! You wrong and I’m going to dig my heels in till I reach Australia!
Jk I like how most of Lemmy actually doesn’t do that bs. But seriously thank you for the further insight
