Here’s an article about it. The tl;dr is: test pilot shoots at ocean, kicks in afterburners, bullets start out faster, but slow quickly. They reunite in mid-air and sparks fly.
What I don’t get is… I mean, the relative speed difference between the bullets and the plane just doesn’t seem like it would be enough to cause them to rip through the plane as if the plane was shot on the ground from a dude with a gun or something.
Right but what was the speed difference at impact? Like if the jet was only going say, 60 MPH faster than the bullets, wouldn’t it just be like when some gravel on the road bounces off your car on the highway?
Yeah in the end it IS what happened, so I guess the speed difference must have been considerable. I just wonder how it could have been so much. Maybe the afterburners can create a LOT of acceleration/thrust, idk.
There were angles involved - imagine throwing a Frisbee forward and running fast enough to bump into it. Now imagine you throw it up, and you run until it hits you in the back of the head
No matter how fast you’re going forward, it’s still coming at you from an angle you’re not moving
He shot the bullets, then tilted down a little more and hit his afterburners. He had to pull up so not to continue on to a salty grave and his parabolic trajectory and the bullets surprised each other. So, a pinch of the bullets slowing significantly and a sprinkle of the plane speeding up.
I hope he is forever dubbed “officer acorn” and made fun of for the rest of his life. Like officer bubbles. In reality, he’s probably a police chief at the next town already
Rich people would probably set something up so that their future incarnation inherits their wealth, since it’s statistically likely that they’d be reincarnated as someone poorer. I could also imagine a much stronger push to bring the birthrate up even at the cost of using unethical means to force it, because if the population decreases, there wouldn’t be enough children born for an increasingly large percentage to reincarnate into
Considering the Rich tend to control governments, this would result in shit like a ban on contraception and abortion, mayhaps legally requiring everyone have a minimum amount of children.
Huh, figured your instance was anticommunist after that bad experience with /196’s modteam. (banned me for saying maaybe we shouldn’t be quoting Keffals, an open grifter who I’ve now been made aware of is also an open pedophile) Pleasantly surprised to see that isn’t the case.
More likely than not in my opinion. The depth-of-field is really weird and the background looks like it was generated out of focus rather than authenticly. If you look at the parts of the photo that are in sharp detail there should be a box where things are in focus and things aren’t. In this photo that box is curvey, which would be difficult to do in-camera. That suggests at least some level of digital manipulation. Whether that’s just touch ups, image compression or outright ai generation I can’t answer.
Or give friendly advice on where you went wrong with the cold pit, your choice of ground insulation materials or just sigh that you don’t have an EDC kit with Paracord before demonstrating their own kit in smallest detail
Sent this to a mate… we were at the shops and he picks up this tiny glass coke bottle for a drink and I’m all like, but this one is cheaper and you get more, what’s the deal?? To which he replied “microplastics” and I was like “bitch! I helped you smoke a quarter through a garden hose last night, stfu with you microplastics bs…” true story
