I’ve always struggled to succinctly describe my job to people outside of it, it’s muddy because I often fill gaps and there’s often a lack of clear r&r, I’m on paper a Data Engineer & Architect, I just say I design and build backend stuff and handle infrastructure.
Had the same issue when I did Equipment Reliability Engineering, technical roles are often really hard to explain to people I’ve found.
Or I click a link to story about a cat stuck in a tree and it takes me to small, local newspaper I’ve never heard of called “The Sawfly Gazette - serving South Western Maine since 1975!”, then it immediately tells me I’ve hit my “article limit” and must subscribe for $14.95.
Reminds me of the time uncle Rob told me how to wrestle properly. The trick is to not wear any clothes to keep them clean from the special wrestling oil he gave me, so mom doesn’t have to wash them.
The Colosseum was just a stadium. A pretty one, but really just a big building among other big buildings. The great pyramids were the effort of a whole nation. They’re the Delta Works, the ISS, the Panama canal, the Three Gorges dam. The Colosseum the equivalent of Michigan stadium…
You commented some really cool things, and then mentioned the 34th biggest sports venue (3rd largest stadium).what’s significant about Michigan stadium?
The point is: Michigan stadium is not on the same level as those other constructs. This Facebook user is doing the equivalent of “It took 5 years for my city to approve permits and build a new library. Extrapolating from that, it should have taken 400 years to build the Hoover dam. Aliens must have done it”
I think I’ve been around on the internet too long because I just assume you can trace this concoction back to 4chan and it’ll create some kind of nerve agent
