IT workers desperately need to unionize. There is so much bullshit that happens, folks are expected to do three different roles at once, have multiple technical stacks they are experts in, and work extra hours + be on call after hours or on weekends.
100%. A full on IT Workers Union would immediately become one of the most powerful weapons in fighting the oppression of the capitalist class. An IT strike could be effective enough that a general strike wouldn’t be necessary
It can be. I often find it “bursty.” I’ve had months at a time when I had stand-ups and then “do whatever you want” for the rest of the day. I generally did do useful work, but there were plently of days when I was just chilling out.

It juat depends. If some org treats you as disposable, pays like shit and lights your hair on fire as you walk in, y’all should walk back out. The next org will probally treat you better, because there are good orgs out there. Even the good places get busy for a bit though. Just make sure that busy comes with money and that it ends at some point.
This is how I would describe my experience. Sometimes it’s crunch time and most of the time it’s fuck around time. After crunch time I always throw a tantrum about how if we only bothered with planning we could largely avoid it.
The conspiracy theorists all say Joe is supposed to step down and Gavin Newsom somehow is added to the ticket which then will win. These conspiracy theorists also say that candidates are selected in advance by the powers that be and it’s all pagentry to deceive the gullible masses. Was this debate really an unepected plot twist, or was it planned?
Remember when covid happened and the media and government said it came from a bat at a market in wuhan and not from the experimental covid lab directly next to the market?
And remember when this was considered “misinformation” and a “conspiracy theory” if you even mentioned that it could be from the covid lab?
Do you rember when they said it was a “conspiracy theory” and “misinformation” to say the covid vaccine was impacting hearts, before they withdrew the Johnson & Johnson vaccine?
Do you remember people getting banned from Facebook for even mentioning that and being called conspiracy theorists spreading misinformation?
God cats have the best life. They wake up when they want. No annoying alarm clock to tell them they’re late to a place they don’t want to be. Performing work they don’t want to do, for an organization they don’t like. Just to come back where they started at the start of their day…too tired to enjoy the 3-4 hours before bedtime ready to do it all over again.

All we can do now is wait, and prey that the macebre of death and destruction is at a minimal this time. For as a cat, they have seen this before, and know how it ends! It ends when the chosen son of goul is reserected into the body of…wait, is the human using the CAN OPENER!!! CHICKEN! CHICKEN! CHICKDN! GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!!!
What about the cloud engineer job do you dislike the most? I’ve been in the field for 7-8 years now and still find a lot of joy. Granted, the most frustrating parts of my job is lack of influence I have over the decisions that get made, but I moved to a team lead position to at least have a little say.
I hate everything about cloud engineer especially when tweaking & deploying, after that your boss blame you because the company got higher bill just because the apps have tons hidden micro service & peaked the server like crazy & your coworkers that made the apps got praise because your boss & project manager didn’t know anything about IT
I agree that it’s only really the low-information undecided voters who will be swayed by a bad debate performance. Happily, we still have 5 months until the election, and I doubt that many people will be thinking about this by the time they get to the ballot box.
There’s no good way to argue with trump supporters so this is the easiest, least brain damaging way. All the arguments have been beaten to death 10 times over. And those that still claim 3rd party votes in november will change anything for the better won’t be swayed either.

I say theres plenty of time and any other democrat would have a better chance of beating trump. No one likes Biden, no ones voting for Biden, theyre voting against Trump. If he drops out for someone else, tell me you wont vote for the replacement. Still a democrat, still not Trump, younger.
I would, sure, but I’m not sure about the majority. Dunno… Most people are super uninformed and vote based on silly shit. They put less thought into it than they do into the stuff they buy at the supermarket. And most people don’t put much thought into that either, I was surprised to find out.
Well Devops isn’t a role. It’s an approach in which bridges development and operations and integrating it in the team. It isn’t sticking a cloud engineer (cloud biased sysadmin) in the team. It’s about collaboration and delegating and supporting.
Cloud engineer is unfortunately what many orgs think devops is.
He somehow monetized being a Trump reply guy back in 2016, every Trump tweet you’d see this guy with a snarky little “well actually I prefer an X that WASN’T Y” or whatever. Within seconds.
