The great thing about this system though is that you can always create an account on your own instance, and interact with any instance that hasn’t been defederated from you.
Why would this even be a consideration? Why is your default to misbehave? It’s attitudes like this that gives rise to moderation and censorship, because you can’t self moderate or behave without someone forcing you to.
You can create your own Lemmy or Kbin server just for you and post whatever you want. Whether other servers federate with you is another matter of course.
The Fediverse gives you absolute freedom of speech and everyone else absolute freedom to block you.
Haha sure, hopefully I can remember correctly. I believe it was an 8:3:1:1 rub - brown sugar, salt, chili powder, and the last 1 was cumin, Sichuan peppercorn, and dried hot pepper. Smoked with hickory at 250ish using a 3-2-1 (3 without foil, 2 wrapped in foil, 1 without foil). I made a sauce using ketchup, mustard, rice wine vinegar, and some leftover rub, and basted that on during the last hour.
Absolutely! Using open source software is much cheaper, as well. Hiring developers to work on open source software/OSs would cost less than buying software annually. Governments pay stupid amounts of money for easily replaceable software.
It would be nice if governments could make a “software union”, pledging to use the same standards. It seems that everyone is inventing the wheel separately in every country or falling back on commercial industry standards.
F.i. the exchange of financial documents. There’s a standard coming along called SAF-T, and even if it is a standard, every country using it are making their own definitions of what it is. There are also some countries that already have their own completely different standard. The crazy thing is that almost every country worldwide are asking for the exact same info on tax returns, but they’ve all individually come up with that. Only differences is the order of fields on the form.
Same with user identification. Every country has their own almost identical solution for identification, which however does not work across borders, despite the similarities.
Certain markets too, perhaps. I’m in the US with an A32 because I’ve just flat-out stopped paying for flagships, and I haven’t seen any junk in the most recent update.
