How do you handle secrets in home automation?
Say you have a script or something that gets run in cron/task scheduler and it needs a password… say to ssh to a raspberry pi elsewhere in your house....

I’m most looking forward to investing in stocks.
I use this account for normal user things, but I want to auto-post social media content in a community I’m in (!taylorswift) which I own. (The content will probably just post 0-3 times a day)....

I am already self-hosting a lot of things for 15+ years now, including git, but I am looking for a solution like Github that is federalized (not Gitlab or the like)....
I need something like that in my life. A lot of them can be somewhat reactionary and sometimes a little right wing. Not always completely but I think sometimes it can get weird.
I get why World and many others defederated from Burggit. Obviously it has questionable content which is not great to have stored on big servers for legal reasons....

by far my favorite console of all time since i first got it, i love pretty much everything on it. someone actually ported a game to the gamecube in the modern day (albeit it needs Swiss, a homebrew app to run) and it’s just so cool to see that it refuses to die
I literally dreamt about this “problem” and this “solution” today morning. I was like “what kind of shit is this? perfect for lemmyshitpost”
No shit skip, of course they shouldn’t turn the ball over, or get red cards, or what the fuck ever. Passing gas in the bathroom and think it’s perfume; literally shitty analysis I just heard on ESPN....

I’m looking for aggregating all feeds from different places into a common view, where I can globally just keep what I want to read from everywhere and remove what I’m not interested on....
It seems like microfiber materials should be a major contributor to micro plastics, especially with all the laundering of the microfiber cloths and clothes.
Seems to just be a marketing term nowadays.
I know we aren’t allowed to use Chrome. We can’t use Brave. But how does the Lemmy community feel about the Vivaldi Browser? or is it still not Firefox…
Almost every program that we run has access to the environment, so nothing stops them from curling our credentials to some nefarious server....
Looking to get some games on my mint setup
I have this issue often. I know if I scratch, it will wake me up and take longer to sleep because of my body movement. If I don’t scratch, my mind only focuses on the itch. Sometimes I’ll wait 5 minutes for the scratch to go away and then I just cave and start scratching any minor itch I have on my body. Has anyone just not...
Image is a popular four-panel meme featuring Gru from “Despicable Me” showing off his evil plan on a large pad. In this version Gru is wearing a lapel pin of the Lemmy.world logo. Frame one: the pad says “The Fediverse is taking social media back from corporate control and proprietary walled gardens.” Gru looks proud....
