Excess deaths are typically defined as the difference between the observed numbers of deaths in specific time periods and expected numbers of deaths in the same time periods.
That’s pretty horrific. I have an American friend explaining to me as well how he could be plotting a fascist takeover
I would suspect that people can do basic math and realize why someone was named Donald if they’re born near today. It might not immediately jump to mind, but it also wouldn’t be subtle. I would bet no one else is naming their child Donald unless it’s a family name.
not dual booting, they are running on completely different computers. But my main problem is a program called Hamachi not working correctly. I use it for “lan”-gaming with friends on games with dead servers.
Tailscale could also work, if they’re looking for something with a little less setup difficulty. I haven’t used it myself as I’m happy to tinker with WireGuard, but it’s supposed to be quite easy to get going and I think the free tier isn’t too restrictive.
With just shows in general, I have a fair amount. Don’t know the exact amount of cartoons, but I got a 1TB external drive almost full of them, a single live actions show from the 90s, a single live action movie, a few animated films, and a whole comic set. As for games, I don’t count by size, nor do I know how many since they’re not stored on a drive. I specifically got a 2TB external drive (both drives Seagate) for if I ever find more shows/whatever I wanna collect, but I have yet to find something I desperately want.
That, and I still need to use it to back up files so I can switch operating systems on my desktop.
Edit:
No idea how much music I’ve downloaded from yt using things like NewPipe, but I got a good amount. I’d assume this counts as piracy too, since I’m certain the people in charge of the music industry don’t like you being able to do that.
Just to say something beyond the obvious ones others are sharing; I really loved Battletanx. The game wasn’t all that great with the nostalgia goggles removed but I had so much fun playing it with friends 25 years ago
Munin is a tried and true solution. It installs on the server creates graphs and makes it easy to see a stair step graph to problems like out of memory.
I’d also highly recommend installing atop and having it collect stats every 1 to 2 minutes. You can go to a crashed server and step through what was running in a “top” like interfsce. I install atop on any server as a means for post incident diagnosis.
While LDAP/Samba are the canonical answers for “what is the AD equivalent for Linux”, I would also like to point out that you could save yourself the time to maintain this by using an AD SaaS solution like Jumpcloud or similar that supports Linux. Given that you said it’s for a church with about 10 computers, there might be a discounted or even free option (eg under the nonprofit category).
Personally I stopped custom roms a while back. I’m not hardcore in the anti-google camp though.
If you are, obviously custom roms will be all you should be looking at. Tons of good recommendations in this thread already.
If you’re not in this camp though, the default pixel experience has been great for me and might be for you. I find it the least annoying of the oem experiences (not cluttered in features I’ll never use, simplified settings menu where I’ve never had to use the search on since it all made sense etc).
I’d say use the stock rom for a few weeks. If you hate it, custom roms are always there for you.
