It's a very well made pixel art game where you play hockey and you can beat up the other team. There's a franchise mode as well, so you'll want to balance how much fighting you do so your players don't get too hurt. There's local co-op so you can play against friends (or use steam remote play together).
Similar to Overcooked but you need to manage your restaurant and make sure you don't fail a single order. It's a rouge-lite, and you can move everything around in your restaurant and you kind of manage the menu as the days go on, but you get a choice whether to add option A or B, so it slowly gets more complicated. Very fun with friends, steam remote play together works here as well.
Similar to Overcooked and PlateUp!, but I feel like it's more geared towards single player (but there's local co-op as well). You have to manage your restaurant and menu (can make it as easy or complex as you'd like), while also maybe killing customers to harvest them for ingredients :) You can spawn in helpers and you can show them a repetitive task to do and they will do it.
Even as somebody who has never used, and will likely never need Apollo, I am really grateful for what he did. However unintentionally, I think he ripped the mask off how rotten the management structure was. It’s one thing to sell ads and collect hidden metadata. Pretty much all the apps do it. But the whole way Reddit treated him was beyond despicable.
Agreed. When I saw the Apollo thread, my first thought was ‘Nah, not even spez would do this’ but I choked on that very fast when I saw the e-mails, the audio recordings and everything. It was so blatant, so asinine, so horribly fucked up.
I’ve never used the Apollo app, but millions of people did and in stead of thanking him for all his work, reddit just stabbed him in the back. Can’t believe there are people still taking reddit’s side on this, it’s crazy.
The 3rd is very different in character than the original 2. It has more in common with Divinity: Original Sin (1&2) than the original games, so they’re the best ones to check out compatibility wise.
I played it using Lutris. I think I had to use winetricks to install .net and after that it ran flawlessly. Do a search on the net. I think the same can be done for Steam using Protontricks. It is such a cool game and if BG3 is anything like it, I am stoked.
If you want to unleash the full potential of an all-flash config and be futureproof, better get one that comes with full width M.2, i.e. x4 with at least PCIe gen 4 connectivity. That only leaves you x86 unless you want something really exotic.
Met our new neighbours yesterday and we’re very happy to discover that they seem cool and also are quite young, which is a rarity in these parts. Trying not to get my hopes up about potentially making new friends, but hey you never know.
Of course since they’ve just moved in, they’ve already warned us there’ll be a fair amount of DIY noise (no problem with that, moving house is lots of work and they don’t do it too early or late) and I suspect that will ramp up at the weekend so we’re planning a trip out somewhere quiet with a picnic instead of just loafing indoors like we usually do.
Less socially awkward lemmings and kbinauts of UKCasual, tell me, is it weird to maybe invite new neighbours round for a cup of tea or something and get to know them a bit? Is that friendly or creepy? I honestly can’t tell.
It’s not creepy or anything, but personally I’d prefer a more relaxed vibe like a bbq or a couple of evening drinks. Just make sure the invite is super casual, like “hey it’d be great to get to know you guys over a tea or coffee whenever you’ve settled” and then invite them again in 2-3 weeks or something.
My thought was that I didn’t want to just assume they drink, and also a bbq seems way more effort and therefore more pressure, but yeah I think you’re right about framing it as a “when you’re settled” thing, thanks.
I’m just overexcited cos I’ve lived here for ten years and managed to get to know like one person in the entire town outside of my partner’s family 😅
I can’t think of an occasion where it would be socially wrong to invite someone round for a cup of tea - but don’t ask me since I’m not not socially awkward.
My old neighbour tells me that the person who moved into our previous house has been known to chase neighbours down the street to insist they come in for a cup of tea. So I think there is a line here where it can become socially awkward.
Since mankind mostly decoupled from natural evolution, we wouldn't develop other mouths. But our look would still change because the jaw muscles wouldn't be trained and maybe our facial expression could become very underdeveloped.
It’s not an age thing, It’s the same reason the internet generally got toxic after a time people who aren’t passionate about things take over and drown out the high effort contributers
I dunno, this is mighty rose tinted. I've run into some spectacular assholes on Mastodon, worse than on twitter, in fact. Most of whom are those aforementioned communists, being just as grating and insane as the nazis are over on twitter.
I haven’t been here much since I joined last week, but one thing I noticed is I’ve barely seen any typos on Lemmy. While I definitely don’t mind seeing the occasional typo, the number of spelling mistakes was getting annoying, and it’s gotten progressively worse over the last year or so.
The problem is they don't have to lie about how bad Democrats have been for the people. (Not that Republicans would be any better, mind you.)
Most Americans have seen their cost of living jump 30%-50% under Joe Biden, and Biden's response is to send $100 billion overseas to fight another country's war, not to give a dime of aid to people here who actually need it.
Are you seriously claiming that Ukrainians do not need help? Try losing your kid to a bomb on a pizza restaurant. Wonder how the real estate market in Mariupol is.
So does Yemen, but you know what has the US been doing? Helping Saudi Arabia starve and decimate the country for the last eight years.
And your fellow Americans are being neglected in order to fund all of this. I'm not sure why it's such a radical notion that maybe, just maybe that hundred billion should be used to benefit our own people instead of funding yet another war.
I have 4 Mastodon accounts, 1 on Vivaldi (as I use this browser), and 3 on Polish servers. My main one is on 101010.pl (largest Polish, can read formatted posts), other ones are on pol.social and mastodon.com.pl. I was also on calckey.pl, but Calckey appararently was not ready for use - the instance is now closing down. I have a Polish /kbin account (on karab.in), and WriteFreely and Mobilizon accounts.
Well, my experience was that their shit didn't work very well. Lots of DNS leaking despite correct setup, and customer service just shrugged it off. It did work right for a while under linux using the system's network manager to connect to their servers directly, but over time they made it harder and harder to find their sever list by burying it deeper and deeper on their website.
Ultimately, I couldn't use it under windows without using their client, which constantly disconnected itself and left me unprotected. It would just shut itself off. Then they went ahead and helped themselves to my money way ahead of schedule for a renewal I didn't want, and I had to threaten them with a fraud report for several days before they caved and gave my money back.
I wasn't happy with them selling me shit that barely worked and then stealing my money so I'd just stay instead of fighting them for a refund. Reason enough for anyone to avoid them.
