I now realize you are trying to buy a laptop on a budget. I’d definitely go for the X1 gen 7 or 8, 16gb of ram minimum. The 1080p screen will give you better battery life but the 4k screen has Dolby vision and will make watching movies a better experience.
I really enjoy all of Valve’s hardware. Others are mentioning the Steam Deck, which is great, but I also love (and frequently use) the Steam Controller and Valve Index.
I don’t know if I have a clear least favorite, as I never owned the things which interest me the least.
A big part of it, I think: the Steam Controller is different in ways that are unpleasant if you approach it like a standard controller. For example, it is not designed to be gripped around the handles like an Xbox controller, but to rest in your fingers. If you attempt to grip it like a traditional controller, it is uncomfortable and the trackpads are hard to use.
I have a friend who grew to like his Steam Controller after using the trackpads on his Steam Deck. For him, it was realizing the potential of the hardware combined with Steam Input.
When I had them (on wellbutrin) they weren’t withdrawal symptoms and could happen at almost any time of day.
It’d present when I’d get up or turn my head. I’d feel/hear a high pitched zing sound and my vision would stutter a little. Very disconcerting, especially when driving, carrying heavy items, or using sharp objects.
Yeah Wellbutrin did not play well with my brain chem so I dropped it fast, I take Zoloft daily and have for several years and have minimal side effects so I just want to understand what is meant by “brain shocks”
Never been on Zoloft, but I had the brain shocks when I came off of Prozac or Effexor. Brain shocks were never a side effect for me. They were always symptoms of withdrawal. Until my pharmacy was able to get my meds refilled, the only escape was sleep.
You have no idea how happy and relieved I was when I saw the term “brain shocks”.
I wasn’t insane, I wasn’t the only one, and it’s a normal thing.
Now what’s really weird is that I had them at a young age when I don’t think I was on any medication. Certainly in the days before Prozac and the like. And I can’t recall when they stopped.
What I recognized as “brain shocks” when I was taking generic escitalipram (Lexapro) would be a feeling sort of like a short circuit in my brain for a quick flash of a moment. Like another commenter said, quick movements of my eyes or head could cause it. It was quick, and non lingering, but could happen frequently. Just a little bzzt! In the brain with a little visual stutter. It didn’t hurt but it was disconcerting until I realized it was normal when missing or cutting down doses. Sounds like it can happen for some people on the normal dose but that wasn’t an issue for me.
I did enable HDR in the display config. If it’s disabled, all the colors on the desktop are annoyingly saturated. I don’t know if disabling it in the display config will prevent gamescope from using HDR correctly.
Good question, should have been more specific in my post.
Thing is, the colors on my HDR display are all washed out on the desktop if I enable HDR. Specially without a color profile. Are you using a color profile?
Interesting. No, I’m not. I’m curious if you would think the desktop colors on my monitor are washed out when HDR is enabled in display config, though I know that’s not particularly helpful. I’m sorry I don’t know much else. I’m disappointed by the lack of any HDR related tuning built into Bazzite though I don’t know enough about HDR to even go about tweaking the colors.
I wouldn’t be. I appreciate the work done so far by KDE and the Plasma team. They just started support with plasma 6. It will improve.
Bazzite
I wouldn’t count on them to solve it. It’s not like they have anything to do with Plasma desktop. They just package existing software in their own distro.
Its interesting. After some looking around and linked posts, this is not entirely true or at least confirmed.
Chen picked up Chang in a bridal carry for a photo after they receiving their gold medals, which led many netizens to joke that Chang and Chen are in a romantic relationship
Is the ‘bridal carry’ what the american diver next to them is surprised at? Seems like an overreaction to me if its only that
All of my gaming is super retro or low tech. I do have an XBoxOne but i rarely use it. Computer is old so games on there are mostly old old stuff from the 90s and early 2000s.
Hardware wise i have an Anbernic 353V that I do a lot of retro gaming. Not a huge fan of the Gameboy style setup but its a good cheap machine.
My kids have Switches and thats what kicked me from supporting Nintendo after they go obsolete. The Joycons on one suck and I’ve replaced the connector hardware twice now. The best version is the Lite but you cant connect it to a TV which is dumb. Their family sharing is broken (wife has digital game, i havs DLC, we are SOL).
