You don’t give your friend a thing, you give his poor wife something. A bidet goes so long and pregnancy itself is hard.
Seriously: Offer her to do some chores like shopping, gift them some take-away gift cards, etc. The situation will put a serious strain on their relationship,
I’ve ordered some household items (door stoppers, tools etc.). The prices were somewhat cheaper than AE, the quality was fine (some things were better than expected. Some very cheap items were… Let’s say they were priced according to their quality. Thought other very cheap items turned out good, so it’s a gamble) and shipping was OK. Never tried the app for privacy reasons, but the site seems ok-ish (it’s a bit janky, but I suspect it’s due in part to some privacy addon I use. In short:
Don’t use the app.
Don’t buy very cheap stuff unless you’re willing to chance it.
The “prizes” either appear only in the app or can be disabled via ad blockers and/or privacy addons.
I only tried the app because the website said that the item I wanted would be “free” through the app. Scummy way to get me to install the app, since I didn’t end up with any “free” items.
I’ll just stick with Aliexpress. I’ve been getting stuff within a week, and it doesn’t feel like I’m in a casino every time I visit. LOL
I actually meant to start a thread one of these days if we can’t ban it! Glad you started the conversation!
My main concern is that by attributing a tactfulness and political rating to them, we’re attaching weight to that. But who does these ratings? Especially when a pop/mainstream mag like the Rolling Stone is classified as “left” the same that explicitly politically left publications like Jacobin are also “left”. That just strikes me as odd.
Aioli is “garlic and oil” by translation. By definition aioli is a spread made from oil emulsified with garlic, which mixing garlic into mayonnaise does not achieve. That said, the colloquial use of aioli to refer to just about any thick smooth spread is well on its way to changing that. Pedants like me can fight it all we want, but languages evolve. It’s just what they do.
I’m a pretty big fan of Dark and Darker! Will admit, the randoms from the Discord are… Questionable at best lol. Would definitely be happy to roll with ya whenever you’re not streaming, though! PM me your deets!
I have had this happen to me when my monitor turns off before the night shift starts and when I come back let’s say an hour later and the night shift is not on.
Prob has something to do with the monitor being off at the switching time
I’m always curious why people do this. Music is the one item where it’s easier to just sub to something like Apple Music… literally $110/yr for all the music that exists. They gave us the solution we asked for and it’s super-cheap.
I pirate the shit out of movies and tv since those guys are gouging me, but musicians barely get by in the streaming era.
Hopefully this triggers nobody. I’m making no judgements.
I personally buy some music from Bandcamp, and I’m pretty sure those songs don’t exist on the Apple Music catalog. So I don’t want to handle multiple apps to listen what I want.
Also, streaming platforms have the internet constraints. Sometimes, like when I’m driving, I don’t have a stable internet connection
I’ve used Spotify for like 20 years now, and I’m finally going back to pirating.
They started “innovating” and adding shit I didn’t want last year to justify fee increases.
I can’t trust businesses to not enshittify, so might as well continue on with where I left my library all those years ago.
Plus: So much music isn’t available on there. I have a huge collection of Japanese Rock, Pop, Visual Kei from the 90s and 00s that you just can’t find easily.
Please rename this thread from low-hanging fruit to low hanging bombs, fruit are foreign spies sent by the vegetables to poison the water supply with rabies
That’s probably the reason why Brodie stopped using it too. Never said why though, just switched to KDE. Which is extremely weird that he did… I heard about the toxicity, cannot confirm myself by first hand, which is the reason why I never tried it out.
Oh god, what a terrible dev (at least from discussion point of view). Definitely disliked it and going to block that person (which doesn’t even matter) after reading the conversation to that point.
Is there anything other than hyprland that has special workspaces like it does? I used to use it until I found out about everything with the developer and that’s the feature I miss the most
Vance is also a DEI hire. They didn’t want two geriatrics on the ticket so they chose someone young. Diversity in age. DEI can be spun many ways. It’s not a bad thing.
