Neofetch is written in bash, you should be able to source it without installing it, doesnt even need to be executable

Could someone provide a link that works, this link doesn’t work on my voyager app for some reason.

Rhynoplaz , to nostupidquestions in US regional accents: Saul Goodman and Michael Scott

Steve is from Massachusetts, and Bob is from Illinois.

I’m curious if Steve used to sound more New England, and possibly trained himself to speak in a more “neutral” Midwestern accent.

Although, they are the same age, so maybe it was a trend they picked up in the 70s?

Cagi ,

The Western New England accdnt is very different from your classic Foggettaboudit east coast accent. Unless you’re an academic linguistics researchers, it’s basically the same as American standard. He was luckily born into his accent.

Rhynoplaz ,

How West is Western New England? He was born and raised just outside of Boston. That’s usually a pretty distinct accent, and not a foggetabouit accent. I see he went to school in Ohio. I think it’s more likely he lost it there, but I’m just a random guy. I just throw theories out.

Cagi , to nostupidquestions in US regional accents: Saul Goodman and Michael Scott

Their accents are different. Bob has a Midwest touch to his speech, as is standard for Illinois kids like him, Steve speaks classic Western New England, typical of his Massachusetts upbringing, which is almost exactly the same as American Standard.

But these two came up in the New York comedy world around the same time. They weren’t close but had many mutual colleagues. It might be more about a similar performance style than a regional accent you’re noticing.

themeatbridge ,

Bob as the Philly Michael Scott was a trip.

They put Reatroachievements on Gamecube games so apparently I'm now balls deep into OG Animal Crossing. Don't even know how it happened, but Tom Nook is saying my kneecaps are at risk if I don't come up with 150K bells by the end of the month.

Man, that Nook is teaching everybody hard truths about capitalism.

lupec , to selfhosted in [Request] Automatic backups when PC comes online

Since space is a major concern, maybe have a look at borg and possibly something like borgmatic on top for easier configuration. Borg does deduplicated backups, so you could do even hourly ones if you wanted without too much extra space depending on how many you want to keep. You’d need to run a borg server wherever you want to store your backups so it’s not a simple rsync over ssh situation but that’s the price you pay for the extra niceties.

It’ll stay empty of course. If make a big enough bucket to stand in and you could go deep sea diving without an airtank.

1.so your library PCs run ubuntu? that’s cool, my uni uses win11.

2.did you mount the USB stick and then add the directory with neofetch in it to path? Or did you do something else?

Sparky OP ,

All government owned libraries in Oslo Norway use Ubuntu. I was originally trying to install hyfetch as python was installed. Pip was not, so I tried running the setup script from the source code but it failed as it relies on some pip dependencies. I did find the neofetch script in the source code, and I ran it straight from the usb drive. I did not set the usb directory with neofetch to path as I don’t want to configure things that might break the pc for other people.
