Fizz , (edited ) to asklemmy in Are there any workouts that men shouldn't do?
@Fizz@lemmy.nz avatar

If you want a aesthetic bodybuilder body then don’t train abs, go light on legwork. This gives you a V shape and makes your frame look massive. Personally I don’t like the imbalance and false strength that comes with it.

IMO do legs but don’t over do it and end up with a out of proportion bubble butt or you’ll look like a gayman. I also don’t like the look of massive traps but you won’t get them without roids so don’t worry.

Other than that I think men should train every muscle and focus on being all round strong. Don’t worry about looking fem the only thing you can over train is your ass and the fix is as simple as not training it.

TrippyFocus , to world in Media Bias Fact Check - Automation

I think having this post isn’t a great idea because you are just assuming the websites bias are legit. At the very least there needs to be a lot of warnings in the bots post about the websites biases and the methodology they use so the reader can come to their own conclusion.

Just looking over the methodlogy it’s clear that it has it’s own biases:

American Bias

The website itself says it’s distinctions of left and right are US based which is very skewed from the rest of the world. There should be a disclaimer or it shouldn’t be used in any world news communities.

Centrist Bias

The website follows the idea of “enlightened centrism” since if it determines a website has a left/right lean (again arbitrary) it affects the factual ratings of the sources.

Examples of this are: FAIR only getting the 2nd highest rating despite never having failed a fact check.

The Intercept getting only a “mostly factual” rating (3rd highest) despite their admittance it has never failed a fact check.

Despite my personal opinions on the pointlessness of using a US based left/right bias criteria I’d feel better if it was at least kept it it’s own section but when you allow it to affect the factual rating of the source it’s just outright wrong. The factual accuracy of the website should be the sole thing that affects this rating.

Questionable Fact Checking

Even just checking some of their ratings raises doubts on the websites credibility.

The ADL is rated as high (2nd highest) and wasn’t found to fail any fact checks.

The ADL was found to be so unreliable on it’s reporting of the Israel-Palestine conflict it is considered an unreliable source by Wikipedia.

“Wikipedia’s editors declared that the Anti-Defamation League cannot be trusted to give reliable information on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and they overwhelmingly said the ADL is an unreliable source on antisemitism.”

Maybe Wikipedia editors are a good arbiter of truth and maybe they aren’t but as people can see there isn’t a consensus and so by choosing Media Bias/Fact Check you’re explicitly choosing to align your “truth” with this websites biases.

Libre office calc would do the trick also, every cell is a day for example

first your questions

Is the tunnel solution appropriate for jellyfin?

Yes but also no. the tldr is It will work, but video streaming is against CloudFlare rules. I ran this way for about 2 years with Plex just for my own use, so for about 15 hours a week on 480p and I never got my service suspended, but I’ve heard stories of others getting suspended… So just know it’s a risk

I suppose it’s OK for vaultwarden as there isnt much data being transfered?

That’s a good use of tunnels

Would it be better to run nginx proxy manager for everything or can I run both of the solutions?

You can definitely run both solutions (tunnel points to npm, npm towards to all other services), and it saves you setting up tunnels for each service

Now for my 2 cents

As others have suggested, tailscale funnel is a valid option. A reverse proxy using a VPS is also a valid option. And as I pointed out, doing the CloudFlare tunnel is an option if you’re willing to accept the risk.

My current setup is using a free Oracle VPS with a small nginx docker container forwarding all port 80 and 443 traffic through a tailscale. On the other end is a nginx proxy manager docker container that points to all my services across the network. I have my CloudFlare details configured in nginx proxy manager to generate a wildcard SSL certificate that I apply to all my local services

Inside the network, I use adguard to redirect the domain to the local LAN IP of the nginx proxy manager server to avoid traffic going through the internet.

Then all you need to do is point the domain on CloudFlare dns to the Oracle server, and you’ll have several layers of separation between the internet and your local LAN , as well as SSL certs both internally and externally on any services you share

It might not be the most elegant setup, but I share my Plex server (as well as about 30 other things) with several other people and can handle multiple 1080p streams going through it without any issue and it’s been nice and stable for over a year without any issues

would love something like this instead.

ColdWater OP ,
@ColdWater@lemmy.ca avatar

You can do this by editing the “issue” file located in /etc/issue, you can put anything in there and it will display in tty login as long as it is text based, if you want it to show date and time or other information here is some possible switches, I recommended Kate if you want ascii because nano can’t display ascii

You have tons of great game suggestions here so i’m not gonna suggest another game. I’m just going to recommend RetroAchievements as a way to add a little meta-progression fun to your retro journey, if you aren’t using them already. They integrate into various popular emulators (RetroArch especially), and it’s fun to be playing Super Mario World and get a little extra recognition for beating a boss.

apotheotic OP ,

I am very prone to completionism so I have intentionally avoided RetroAchievements as I didn’t want to get bogged down chasing them :P But I do very much appreciate the extra recco!!

extremely fair! I just broke a 2-month fever with Pokemon Pinball bc I became obsessed with getting the “beaten” marker on RA. I think I was still having fun up to the end? but not totally clear. So I get it. lol

Well done for persevering and fingers crossed you don’t get a fever like that any time soon again :P
