I have no collection whatsoever. Everything that I watched gets deleted from the seedbox. A maximum of 900GB are stored on there at any given time. It’s cheap and no hassle to maintain.
If you are not logging into the computer with your school account they probably do not have direct access to the device. If you are using office365 and have online files they probably have access to them. Maybe if you have OneDrive set up to sync folders with your school account they could have access that way.
There is no one school environment though so it would be impossible for us to know exactly how it is set up.

I don’t use OneDrive but maybe in OneDrive settings it will show the path or folder syncs. I would google this one.
It’s not actually that big a difference. I haven’t had as many bugs with my AMD card (7800xt), and i do VRR on Wayland, but some games aren’t optimized as well for it as its Nvidia equivalent.
Many registrars let you buy a domain and set up dynamic DNS for it within their system so you can own a domain and get dyndns on it.
Otherwise you could accomplish it with a VPS but you’d only need the smallest one available because it would just need to run nginx to forward to your home ip (and a small tool to update that IP when it changes). So you could probably get something for less than $5/mo.
Are you referring to a drawing tablet? If so, then a good number of ones from the better known brands are supported by the kernel by default. Your safest bet though is Wacom. Wacom is definitely the best supported brand, but it tends to be more expensive than other brands (such as XP-pen and Huion). Non-Wacom branded tablets may require a little bit more initial configuration, like adding a udev rule (I had to do that for my Huion Inspiroy Ink).
You can pick up the older pads really cheaply too. I got mine for about £20 a few years ago. It’s basic, but if you’re just starting out, it does what you need :)
Primarily use AMD graphics. My key issue on linux is the GPU reset situation, which can make experiences like VFIO and LookingGlass less than optimal, though there seems to be some commitment from all IHVs to improve desktop expeirence under Linux.
AMD and Valve work fairly closely on such endeavours which is neat, though we also have nvidia getting their shit together for Wayland and now offering an open kernel module (even in lieu of open, first party UMDs, for which the NVK driver is well worth investigating).
The open kernel module and NVK driver are applicable to Turing (your current GPU) and newer. Check them out.
You don’t owe it to anybody to align to a given vendor, just use what works best for you at a price point that doesn’t suck. If there are any specific use cases you’d like to know about then I’m sure the people here would be happy to test and report back.
Genuinely, though. You describe democratic worker councils, large public programs, criticize Capitalism, even point out Imperialism, and everyone agrees with you and what you want, as long as you don’t call yourself a Marxist.
I see this a ton on Lemmy, if I describe what I want and how I want to get there, very few people openly disagree unless I add that this is Marxism. So, I’ve stopped trying to hide that these ideas are Marxist and instead focus on correcting misconceptions about Marxism, like thinking Communism would have no government because Marx used the word “stateless” when describing it, not realizing he meant things like Private Property Rights and other statist means of upholding Capitalism. Marx wasn’t an Anarchist nor did he want Anarchism.
Indeed, as soon as you mention Marxism then the whole conversation becomes about that. Simply discussing the concepts with people without using trigger words tends to be a lot more productive. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what people want to call it, as long as they can understand what course of action is desirable.
I do think it’s useful to dispel the veil, though. People simply agreeing with concepts doesn’t mean they will pursue action, it’s important that people actually understand Marxism, at least in my opinion. Agitprop is good.
We shouldn’t fall into a trap of defining what’s extreme as a deviation from the mainstream liberal bias in the west. In my view the idea that a minority of people should own the means of production and dictate the economic reality for the working majority is what’s extreme. It is true, that Marxists advocate for extreme measures for overthrowing an extreme system though.
I generally agree, however whether something is reasonable or just has little to do with deviation from the norm. It’s linguistic gymnastics, really. Marxism is extreme in the sense that it is a firmly Leftist position in a world dominated by Capital, but is perfectly reasonable at the same time.

For sure, I do think this is worth pushing back on though. If we agree that the world capitalism built is itself extreme then, a firmly Leftist ideology is perhaps something we should be striving for to get away from the state we currently find ourselves in.

Smaller steps would be a good start, why not take a closer look at Portugal? A left government recreate the whole state in just a few years and save the country from being bankrupt. This wasn’t Marxism, but it was a left wing party with really good ideas.

Well, the general form of Marxist ideology in the population is not so much. But some elements of this ideology are so strong that the Republican Party uses this model of discourse for its voters.

People build on the epistomological and ontological frameworks to make a living tradition.
An ideology has to evolve over time in order to remain relevant to the generations that come and go from time to time. If you don’t do that, you will stagnate with a small group of people.
To gather more people, you have to find a common ground of the groups that are marginalized from society at that time, and you have to lead them to achieve that goal.

You can get super cheap VPSs and use them just as a reverse proxy (with access via VPN). I host 11 servers using one single-core VPS as a reverse proxy. All data resides on premises, in house. I pay 10/yr for VPS. It definitely does not defeat the purpose.
