Orb is a substitute shell for human soul after its separation from a body.

Do you think that’s what a schizophrenic is? They just operate on the principles of The Orb and it’s how they make decisions?

Can please someone turns this Linux meme to GNU/Linux meme?

HouseWolf , to linux in I finally deleted windows on every computer I own

While I only have one PC I did write over my old Windows drive about a month ago, I haven’t loaded into Windows 10 in nearly a year and I fear how many updates it would have forced upon me at once…

BackOnMyBS , to nostupidquestions in Why are weather apps so bad at telling you the current weather?
@BackOnMyBS@lemmy.autism.place avatar

I just looked at my weather app (Today Weather), and the report of the current temperature varies by 6°F depending on which data set I choose. I go with the National Weather Service (federal govt).

As far as predicting precipitation, the radar seems pretty good for the next few hours. I press play on it, and it tells me what it thinks the radar will look like for the next 7 hours in 15 mins increments.

I think that predicting the weather beyond a day gets pretty difficult because the weather is too chaotic. The best they can do is to gather data from local weather stations and see how often it rained when they had these same data in the past. So basically, it’s like saying, “When the temp has been 85°F, humidity 62%, wind from WNW at 5 kts, pressure at 1016 mBar, and the date was July 29, it rained 6 times out of 10.”

I do this to cats I see and they say “No.” and sit down.

My cat follows all my commands. I say “ignore me and do nothing else I say” and he ignores me and continues with his day.

No,but I use similar tempos to call him and he comes.

I mean there are dozens of us here 😆. But seriously, I know I’m not as stoked about the new seasons, it’s just not the same. It’s a bit weird seeing the resurrected corpse of one of your favorite shows stumbling around and repeating jokes it used to tell.

Lizardking27 OP ,

Fair enough. But I dont know if I’d compare it to a resurrected corpse. The gang is mostly intact, they’re still trying to make a good show, it’s just not fueled by the same fresh, youthful inspiration it once was.

Tanoh ,

I liked the last season for the most part, but the episodes were very hit or miss. And I feel like this one was another miss. Hopefully the other episodes will be better.

Someone gifted me a really cool set of erlenmeyer and beaker glasses and cups. They look great, and drinking from them actually makes me physically nauseous. Even seeing other people drink from them makes me uneasy.

I could not keep this drink down no matter how tasty it is.

Hazor , to nostupidquestions in When a medicine asks you to "take with food" how much food is enough?

I’m a nurse. We usually recommend at least 350 calories, but ideally with a meal, but it also depends on the medication. For some, it’s to slow how quickly the medication is absorbed and/or reduce side effects, and isn’t necessary for the medication to work (e.g., stimulants, some antidepressants). For others, taking with food is necessary for the medication to be absorbed effectively so that it works (e.g., Latuda, used to treat mood and psychotic disorders).

hasnt_seen_goonies , to retrogaming in What are your favorite Nintendo 64 games?

Rocket: robot on wheels

I agree with all of the other great games others have mentioned, but I really love the first level of rocket. It’s your typical platformer, except it has a physics engine, so when you throw things, they might bounce in fun ways, and there is this dune buggy that you get to drive that bounces off the sand dunes in ways that releases a lot of seratonin in my brain.

Metal Gear Solid is one of my favorite games of all time, followed closely by 2 and 3. It really is an incredibly timeless piece of art in my opinion, just filled to the brim with incredible moments.

apotheotic OP ,

Sons of Liberty was my first experience of the MGS series and I really enjoyed it. Absolutely off the wall parody of military games in the absolute best way.
