I experienced this when I was in the military doing a field training exercise. As we got in our sleeping bags for the night I noticed there wasn’t a single noise. No wind, no insects chirping. I think serenity seems to be the best existing term. Although I’m beginning to think that people might feel the feeling of serenity differently to each other. So if feelings were an easier thing to communicate, or if people got into more deep discussions about them more often, the exact form of serenity we are feeling might be able to be given it’s own proper term.
Matrix and its implementations like Synapse have a very intimidating architecture (I’d go as far as to call most of the implementations somewhat overengineered) and the documentation ranges from inconsistent to horrific. I ran into this particular situation myself, Fortunately this particular step you’re overthinking it. You can use any random string you want. It doesn’t even have to be random, just as long as what you put in the config file matches. It’s basically just a temporary admin password.

I still have to sort out having a different server name to the access name so I can use the domain as well. Do I just put a field into the config like the rest? Can it go anywhere?
Matrix seemed interesting right until I got to self hosting it. Then, getting to know it from up close, and the absolute trainwreck that the protocol is, made me love XMPP. Matrix has no excuse for being so messy and fragile at this point. You do you, but I decided that it isn’t worth my sysadmin time (especially when something like ejabberd is practically fire and forget).
funnily there’s an… ansible i think? project that makes selfhosting synapse easy as fuck, you basically just go “ansible deploy synapse” or whatever the syntax is and it does almost everything for you.

Yea I think this is the context of their comment. Compared to buttressing capitalism, being pro or against trans people is neither here nor there as far as major coordinated missions from the bourgeoisie (or mainstream or whatever).
That they seem to think the boxer in question was biological make is likely off/inaccurate AFAICT, but that’s a moving story and not following it closely is no major issue I’d say.
Some insensitive or inappropriate language is going on here maybe. But I wouldn’t know and would want to defer to trans people to guide any understanding.
I have not had any issues with Kopia so far, but I have also only used it for maybe a year? My main reason for trying it was that I wanted to be able to give something to family members to use as a backup client with a reasonable ui. I can also control the default exclude list and default policies for compression/etc pretty easily.
I don’t know how many years of restic backups I have, but I still rely on it for my most important data. Anything really important on my desktop/laptop gets backed up via kopia, but also gets copied (usually via nextcloud) to a server that has hourly zfs snapshots and daily restic snapshots. Both the restic and kopia snapshots get stored on a local nas and then synced to rsync.net.
