I have a large audible library I would like to backup and make available for other audiobook apps that use less battery. I’d like to maintain as much information and structure as possible. I saw a self hosted solution for audiobooks I might try to implement as well....

(note: this is in the US, idk if it’s normal in other countries) I understand that some cities don’t have a station, in which case it makes sense, but I’m visiting family in a small city (college town) that just updated the train/bus station a few years ago, but the only bus from my major city drops me off on a random side...
Why are packages labled com.person.mypackage rather than just person.mypackage
Lemmy needs an analogue of IAMA/AskMeAnything (or whatever we need to do to avoid the copyright issues if any). Do we currently have that or is there any indication its in the works?

I am using an FOSS app called Automation Git repo, it doesn’t allow me to directly open Android Apps except if I use scripts. I don’t know what scripts it’s talking about, but I am trying to learn. Just like there are bash shell scripts, are there android scripts or something of the sort?...
I want to auto start Termux and KDE Connect whenever I reboot. I basically need to launch android applications Termux and KDE connect while my Samsung phone starts and it can’t do it by itself, so, I want a app like MacroDroid which is opensource.

Hey everyone, just a quick question....
As much as I adore paperless-ngx for its UX, I hate it for its tech-stack. Idling it already uses 300 MB RAM, when changing a few metadata fields on a document it easily spikes to 700 oder 800 MB. That’s insane for the work it actually does. Is there anything more lightweight? All I need is metadata management and a gallery...
Hey fellow saltdogs! :D...
I’ve only got a couple of categories, one for sonarr, prowlarr (for some reason), and Games. They each have their save path set and thus I would expect any torrent added under the Games category would be saved in the path set for that category. But they’re not, they’re dumped in the default save path making that folder a...
On August 21, my Yunohost server, which I keep in my house, started warning we that port 80 was inaccessible from the Internet. None of my sites use port 80, so everything kept working, but I was concerned because I knew that my Let’s Encrypt certificate would fail to automatically renew if I didn’t fix the problem....
I want to create a Pixelfed account but I’m not sure which instance to choose. I’m in the US, so I was just going to pick the default and largest option, but I know spreading out the instances is one advantage to the federated network, so it then makes sense to choose a smaller one....
There’s some content that I would like to own that is currently being hosted on Plex (by Plex, on their ad supported service) anyone know how to rip it?
I’m curious as I’ve been running DNS66 on my previous and current phone and whilst it does exactly what it says (blocks all ads across the device) my concern is that the last published update in fdroid sas 2021....

Hey, beautiful people of Linux, I need some advice. I’ve been tinkering for the past several weeks on flavours of Plasma DE on Arch and Tumbleweed on my Nvidia/Alder Lake setup. Suffice to say the experience was nothing short of getting waterboarded in Guantanamo by Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity high-fiving each other while...
