Anyone know of a social media manager that include lemmy? Must be free and open source....
I am pretty new to the fediverse, but have been sort of aware about its presence since elon took over twitter. I am having some trouble figuring out how to use other parts of the fediverse. For example, I came across a link to a post from beehaw, but was unable to comment on it. How do I do that?...
So my understanding is that a community created on a certain server (say lemmy.world), can be interacted with by any other federated server, and any interactions from those servers are synced to the original “true” community / server. How does it work if two servers both have a community with the same name? Each server is...
In the old days of a few years ago, I used The Trove to find all I needed. Is there any replacement? I’m specifically looking for niche ttrpgs.
I’m trying to start out self-hosting and was looking for some good servers. I have a budget of ~100 USD and am in the US. I was initially going to get some type of raspberry pi but they seem to always be sold out here
I was actually somewhat ok with going back to certain Reddit communities (although NOT just mindless scrolling) after the blackout. There’s a lot of communities where (I thought) there’s literally no alternatives....
Anything will be considered as long as it’s designed by the community & has our members’ support! :)
Let’s make a kick-ass banner for our community! We may also consider one that is on public domain, provided it has our members’ support....
Perhaps I’ve misunderstood how Lemmy works, but from what I can tell Lemmy is resulting in fragmentation between communities. If I’ve got this wrong, or browsing Lemmy wrong, please correct me!...
I searched for ages for a replacement of something like torrentz, and the rarbg drop made me start the search again. I ended up trying the included search in qbittorrent, and I’m very happy with the results, it scans many public trackers, and I have always found what I wanted....
I try using Org-mode/Latex with pandoc, but end up using only Office for docx and PowerPoint.
Most people access the Fediverse through one of the large instances: lemmy.world, kbin, or beehaw. New or small instances of Lemmy have no content by default, and can most easily get content by linking to larger Lemmy instances. This is done manually one “Community” at a time (I spent 15 minutes doing this yesterday)....
Welcome to worldbuilding your one-stop shop for all your fictional worlds. Whether it’s for a D&D campaign, book you’re writing, or a favorite hobby, if you’re worldbuilding you’re welcome here....
I’m trying to get back into self hosting. I had previously used Unraid and it worked well to run VMs where needed and Docker containers whenever possible. This biggest benefit is that there is an easy way to give each container it’s own IP so you don’t have to worry about port conflicts. Nobody else does this for Docker as...

My wife just got into Tetris and wants to play together. I have been bragging to her about how good I am at Tetris and now she wants to play together...
https://lemmy.ml/c/indiecountry !indiecountry I made this community for linking songs and discussing new up and coming country musicians. Come give it a shot I promise you country music isn’t only what you’ll hear on the radio!
Does anyone here have experience with gaming on immutable distros like Fedora Silverblue, Fedora Kinote, OpenSUSE MicroOS or any other general desktop variants? I know SteamOS 3 and ChimeraOS are both immutable, but they come with all kernel mods and libraries baked in....
I asked this before on reddit, but with the blackout, I can’t see what was replied. What are some good sites to use if I wanna pirate games and software on linux. On 1337x there’s jc141 but his repacks are a lil weird....
