As the title suggests, trying to find anything in someone else’s kitchen is almost always a frustrating experience. Everyone seems to have a different idea about where to put things.

I have some drives of various sizes, 1TB, 2TB etc. I am currently working with a 2 TB drive. I place it in a powered external USB-3 drive enclosure. I can see it in lsblk as the correct size (as SDA) , but the disk manager does not see /dev/sda, and fdisk only wants to let me create a 5 GB partition....

Just curious. I’m hearing that a lot of people are using various apps with Lemmy but I’m having such a good experience with the browser version that I don’t understand the point of adding an additional layer via an app in between my access to the service. I was thinking of setting up a seedbox. Seeding will mean that the hard drive is being read from virtually non-stop. Is it fair to say that hard drives are designed for this? Or would this reduce the operational life-span of the hard drive?...

I’ve been looking into the Fediverse and it seems like something I want to get more accustomed to. But iw as wondering if there was an email one based on it? I’ve got like Gmail and outlooks. What controller do you recommend for steam gaming? Is the ps5 controller good? I heard the Xbox controller had some latency issues. I’ve been using the ps4 controller and have noticed a slight amount of latency.

Ublock Origin is an obvious one, but I also can't stand not having Foxy Gestures anymore. It adds customizable mouse gestures, so you can set it up to have easy swipes to go back a page, reload a page, close a tab, etc, and it feels wonderful and smooth to use compared to just using the traditional buttons to do everything....
