Hi all, is there a way to force the keyboard to show for a already existing app? I know that it would be possible to force the keyboard when programming an app, but in this case, I want to show it always for a specific existing app. Thanks!

Where do you find alternatives for your subreddits? I found most of them but for these I can’t find any alternatives so I’m still using old.reddit and redreader....

Hi everyone, looking for help with an SSD/Win problem: My Thinkpad with Win11 has been acting up lately, and I am fairly sure the problem is with the SSD (very high disk load on startup and shortly before each of the many many crashes.) I would like to avoid having to set up my system from scratch....

As title says. Obviously I could setup different virtual machines or spend the time and install all the DEs in one VM if it is even possible without breaking the OS. I’m wondering if there is an already made iso or something that installs all the maintained DEs for trying.

I have heard that willpower is finite and every person starts their day with a limited capacity....

I know it’s gross, unhealthy, a stupid habit, makes no sense....

What do you use for offsite backup? Since best practice recommends 3 copies on 2 different devices where one device is offsite....

I got an old Windows 7 laptop that was going to be thrown out and decided to put Linux on it (see previous thread here). Most people suggested I go with the latest stable version of Debian, so that’s what I installed. I’ve mostly used Windows, but I do have some experience with Ubuntu....

I’ve been kind of curious about these for a while now. I have several teflon coated pans, but they’re not so great for high heat applications, and the coating wears off after a while....

I know that for decades now, hard disks don’t really reveal their actual internal geometry (which is complicated anyway, since inner cylinders may have fewer sectors than outer cylinders, etc.), and present fictional geometries to satisfy legacy software, but I found it weird anyway....
