PC control over ethernet adapters

I’m looking to connect my PC in my home office to my living room TV. Right now I’m looking at unpowered usb over cat5/6 and powered HDMI over cat5/6. Both of the adapters say they’re good for ~150’ and I’d be doing a 40’ cable run with pre terminated cat6. Cost of about $70 for adapters and cable on amazon....

Has the time since the invention of agriculture been long enough for any evolutionary changes to occur, and if so, what are some of those changes?

Sorry for the long post. tl;dr: I’ve already got a small home server and need more storage. Do I replace an existing server with one that has more hard drive bays, or do I get a separate NAS device?...

I know that recent drama has caused a bit of uneasiness in the community for this platforms future, but I am optimistic for lemmy. It might be helpful to look to mastodon to learn how to move forward.

Recommendations for a Linux system backup tool

I am currently using EndeavourOS for my laptop. Is there a backup solution that is easy to use, and can be run from the EndeavourOS install media without internet? (RSync is included, but no other backup tools are included, to my knowledge.) I don’t want to use another ISO due to space constraints on my USB.
