Potatoes on edge, rice chicken and leaves in the middle

Pork can be either, it just overheats and cools quickly, if it’s great enough it’s not going to dry. Otherwise do like chicken.

Lasagna: slice it and make a ring

If it’s a dish that’s all homogeneous like fried rice, make a donut

trolololol ,

Second step: get an apron and a giant sized toddler chair

LEDs can take quite a beating. The only thing that degrades then is being on, and being hot. For all purposes unless it’s inside a restaurant kitchen or they’re on, they’re not hot.

Other packaged electronic components follow the same rules. Except wires and solder that can oxidize without being used.

So no, I think that’s a grift if you can’t reach 5 years. When domestic LED lighting was in infancy we’d hear all power LEDs, like for cars, should last 10 years.

trolololol ,

As an EE graduate I want to hear more about what dirt means and what driver can be affected by it. I’d expect power electronics to stand 100% over voltage over short periods and easy 20% long term, which would blow up lots of other things on the house before the driver or the LED starts performing worse.

trolololol ,

Oh dang, a cheap driver is probably $0.50 cheaper than a half decent one that can take the hit.

In Australia anything has 12 months warranty by law, this factory would bankrupt quick.

trolololol ,

Mechanical things suffer a lot of stress from turning on/off. But even spinning disk storage turns off automatically if desktop is idle for a certain time, it’s a balance between switch vs continuous operation, they have overlapping kinds of wear and tear.

Top of mind, you can expect 10k cycles from typical buttons and it’s hard to be less complex than a button. Because metal parts are subject to fatigue.

Flash based drives would certainly fail faster or slower depending on the number of write bytes over its life.

Then there’s erosion caused by electrons, which is my biggest suspect for the problems of last generation of Intel CPUs. You have to royally screw up to start selling something that overlooked this.

trolololol ,

So you’re saying it’s not ok to let people do informed decisions? Or are you saying that the city that charges less wants also to sell less?

What is "Mobile Services" and would disabling it prevent me from being able to send and receive texts or calls?

Most of the android phones I’ve had came preinstalled with something called “Mobile Services”. I normally remove it because it just keeps randomly installing apps and games that don’t want but I’ve never had an active phone plan on those phones. If I disabled it from my phone, would I still be able to send and receive...

trolololol ,

There’s at least one way to reverse it, by wiping the phone clean during a total reset, like what you would do if you sell the phone.

trolololol ,

I think enabling and disabling that particularly app should be enough.

What I mentioned is that it’s very unlikely to brick the phone.

trolololol ,

I guess you’re too worried about mass manufacturing history and physics theory. Why not get a few cores, buy some winding wire and set up a rig and give it a go?

trolololol ,

You’re saying that just because they’re born in a country that in the last 2 years decided to invade Ukraine.

Maybe some or all are shills or tankies, but doesn’t matter you already made your mind that they’re working to further Putin’s interests.

trolololol ,

At this point monopoly of violence by the state would be an improvement

Also sounds like America’s favorite hobby is back: shooting presidents.

Was there any previous attempts of murder without shooting? And if anyone has statistics of assassinations in other countries by guns vs something else I’d be curious to see. Except Fidel, that’s going to take too long and skew the numbers 🤣🤣🤣

trolololol ,

I was more referring to what happens when someone gets doxxed or school violence or civilians hating immigrants.

trolololol ,

Where’s the example with too much yellow cake?

trolololol , (edited )

1000% I came here to say this

But also, there’s places in Lemmy where you can vent. But not necessarily heal, if your mental wounds are too deep.

I hope you find better happier days

trolololol ,

That graph is what the herd behavior looks like. But if you break down, take 2 people who are actually on bottom quartile. While on average they think they’re 3rd quartile aka a bit above average, one of them will have impostor syndrome and the other one will think they’re the smartest person around. Then for the top 2 smartest people around, one will know it for sure and the other will think of themselves less than the overconfident newbie described above.

trolololol ,

I could give away food if that would reduce my socializing

trolololol ,

Price wouldn’t change.

trolololol ,

Why? You just have to prove you bought a phone and posted a photo/video on a right leaning social media and you get the right to have a screen on your phone.

trolololol ,

Now this is a property shit post, unlike the chipotle thing

trolololol , (edited )

Oooh dang I only saw it now.

My fingers are so used to typing this shit that they may have gained sentience and are outsmarting my brains.

The olimex company just announced the: RVPC - a kit PC with a RISC-V CPU, and they say it'll cost US$1 (olimex.wordpress.com)

It will support PS/2 keyboards and VGA. Intended to be a learning platform for RISC-V coding, it’s only got 2k of RAM. (I tried finding a 3rd party source for this announcement but I struck out, so I’m linking the actual olimex webpage. Not affiliated with them, just thought this looked neat.)

trolololol ,

Yeah it’s a “PC”

trolololol ,

Yeah nah still in micro controller space. When you say PC it comes w with up to date expectations attached and VGA is not one of them. Or 2k RAM.

trolololol ,

I don’t see any humor or tackiness. It’s not bad enough for this community.

10/10 would up vote if this was a food space

trolololol ,

That’s a good split mate, if we have Bernie they can have Trump as many times as they want.

trolololol ,

Dude are you forgetting that people are ok with death penalty AND it’s normalized to die without treatment if you can’t pay for it?

trolololol ,

“see, I don’t have a nose anymore, but it’s worth it because he owns the liberals… it’s happening any time now, just wait and see”

trolololol ,

Norway … Brewery

What about distillery?

Are you one of those guys that would insist on ham and eggs brekkie even in Israel?

trolololol ,

Yep but if you think that word is too biased you can also call them communists, climate activists or snowflakes. Which one you pick depends solely on your own mood.

trolololol ,

OMG the special envelope seems to make it specially easier for people to steal just the right mail

trolololol ,

Does it mean I’m supposed to eat that with gloves,? This is not making sense

trolololol ,

Smoke some, eat snacks and try using real mouse with your laptop.

trolololol ,

Hey don’t give people ideas

trolololol ,

You know what’s funny

I watched a video saying how corruption helps a country grow faster. It’s a specific type of corruption though: rich people asking politicians to create laws and make certain things happen.

The bad news is that 99% of people won’t benefit. Insert Pikachu face if you will.

I think it was video # 4 of this series youtu.be/Bc1lVZ_Bi08?si=d_lmdCDepDjF2cSz

trolololol ,

We got the Trojan in, let’s move move move!

trolololol ,

I’ll date myself. My first PC had 500MB of STORAGE

trolololol ,

Plot twist, reboot takes 11 minutes and you didn’t test for it

trolololol ,

I had a friend with one of those while I had an Atari. The Atari game would come up within a minute, but the tape took like 15 min to start.

trolololol ,

Never ask an engineer why lol

Source: am engineer

trolololol ,

“journalistic”

Fixed that for you

trolololol ,

I don’t know why the person you’re replying to causes me so much revulsion. Probably resonates with some people I’m not in touch. Anyways, live moves on and I decided to block that person.

Life’s too short to tolerate asswholes

trolololol ,

Based on what I’ve seen from this person, this is all I ever seen them talking about

trolololol ,

Edge cases are for teams that have internal testing AND care about quality.

A quick easy way to know if your new job is or isn’t one of those, is when you open a 3 year project and find no unit tests.

Leading smartphone vendor in each country (sh.itjust.works)

Across the world, the biggest smartphone manufacturers are Apple (28%), Samsung (24%), Xiaomi (12%), Oppo (6%) and Vivo (5%). However, there are geographic patterns in popularity, with Apple dominating North America and East Asia, while Samsung leads in South America, Europe, Africa and West Asia in addition to its home turf of...

trolololol ,

Yep, saying Apple is biggest manufacturer is misleading since they have a class of their own. It’s like saying they’re the biggest manufacturer for iOS, which is not useful information.

trolololol ,

So what did the guy win? I’m not clicking that link, sry

trolololol ,

Yep they do, but it’s going to take a few years for the courts to rule in this one since that stupid fee came in like a month ago
