My nephew is named Levi and I 100% plan on calling him Leviathan when he’s a bit older. I hope my brother hates it! Haha

Some cutesy games that I found.

GBA:

  • Disney’s Cinderella: Magical Dreams
  • Disney’s Magical Quest 1, 2, and 3
  • Disney’s The Little Mermaid: Magic in Two Kingdoms
  • Disney Princess
  • Disney Princess Royal Adventure
  • My Little Pony Crystal Princess: The Runaway Rainbow
  • a multitude of different Barbie games

MegaDrive:

  • Ariel the Little Mermaid (I played this one as a kid, but I don’t remember much from it)

SNES:

  • Barbie Vacation Adventure
  • The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey and Minnie
  • Kirby Super Star
  • Kirby’s Dream Land 3
  • The Wizard of Oz.

The Great Circus Mystery game was one of my favorites to play with my younger brother. It has an amazing 2 player mode where a second player can join at any time, which probably doesn’t help in this case, but it’s a great game to play together. Similar mechanics and style: The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse. These 2 games (and the third game) are also on the GBA and listed above as Disney’s Magical Quest 1, 2, and 3.

I’ve only personally played Ariel the Little Mermaid and Great Circus Mystery, all of the others I just now opened to get an idea of how they play to see if they’re cute. If many of these don’t fit the bill, I at least highly recommend the Magical Quest ones on either system. I hope this helps your search.

How does ripping a CD/DVD work exactly? Is it similar to copying or does it leave the CD/DVD unusable?

I’ve never ripped CDs or DVDs before for any reason and am curious how this works since I have some stuff I wanna see about backing up but am nervous about ruining the disc. I’ve tried looking this up, but every time I do, I obviously am searching for the wrong thing because I have never found the info I’m looking for.

I learned that data was on the top side at a very young age. I put a sticker on top of a CD and a couple years later peeled it off and the image came off too. I tried to play the CD and realized my mistake. I think I was around 7. Luckily it was just kid’s Christmas songs and nothing important lol.

If you haven’t already, clean the dryer vent thoroughly, including the whole exhaust vent leading outside. This should be done at least once a year. Once the vent is clear it should speed up drying, if not it might be the dryer itself and the manual might have solutions.

Here are some guides: familyhandyman.com/…/how-to-clean-a-dryer-vent/home.howstuffworks.com/…/dryer-vent-cleaning.htm

Just filter out glass and LED in your search. There are plenty of plain black towers. They’re usually pretty cheap too, I think mine was $20.

Don’t forget about her surrealist second channel “vihartvihart”! I think there’s been a couple of new posts there as well.

In the app or desktop site? On the app it’s been that way for a while, like a seafoam green, no idea how long it’s been that color. The desktop site looks dark green right now, that’s new. Probably for the holidays.

sbexpert ,

Wow, it must have just changed over! Earlier it was teal, and now it’s green.

On the other hand, if you do want to type like that on a phone, double-tap the caps button and it stays capitalized. (I don’t know if this works on all phones).

Here's what a random person on the internet thought of The Outer Worlds (lemmy.world)

I played the Steam version of the base game, with no DLC. I did not play the Spacer’s Choice “remaster” as it has a reputation for being broken and poorly put together. I played the game to completion on normal difficulty, completing most of the side quests, spending time with all my companions, and trying to get the most...

This is one of those games that I started playing and put down and went back to and played through entirely. I really wanted to play it because I loved The Stupendium’s song “The Fine Print”. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and medicated, I didn’t think this would effect how I play games, but it allowed me to stay focused on the game and actually play it all the way through. I was able to thoroughly explore the game without getting distracted by picking up items, getting lost, forgetting the plot or quest line.

My favorite things about the game were the silly jingles and overall style of everything. The slogans and stylized art really made it feel retro-futuristic and dystopian. Everyone knows the companies are bad, but it’s all they have, so they have to put on a smile and deal with it. The choices you face make you think about the consequences (what’s right vs corporate greed, mostly). In my play-through I tried to do all of the “right” choices and stay on everyone’s good side, be the “hero”. I did every side quest and companion story line, so it took a while to complete, but it was nice to completely finish a game for once. The next time I play, I think I’ll do a more “evil” approach to see more story lines. I really enjoyed all the mementos and trinkets you collect for the ship, it was nice to read little snippets about them and the companions. I really think it was the little things about the game that I enjoyed the most. Fighting enemies wasn’t hard, especially with companions. I didn’t use their special abilities, (I don’t think I knew how to) so I missed out on the small comment scenes you mentioned.

Unfortunately, I played it on PS4, so the worst thing was load times. Every loading screen took forever. The further into the game, the longer they took. At one point the game crashed and I had to re-download to get it to work again, luckily this didn’t effect the save game. But it happened a couple of times, which was worrying. Hopefully I can get the PC version for my next play-through. I played on easy mode because I’m horrible at FPS and I have to say, the amount of ammo you’re given is excessive, even for easy mode. I had thousands of rounds of ammo for all ammo types. I don’t think I reached the storage limit, but it was close.

Great review, you summed up the story line and game style very eloquently! I agree that many quests were tedious fetch-quests, this was very annoying and obvious playing on PS4 with the load screens. I didn’t realize it was advertised as a follow up to New Vegas, but I had heard that it was made by some of the people that worked on it, which you point out is not exactly the case. Regardless, they did a wonderful job on this game and while it’s not perfect, it is a great story that I enjoyed! Coincidentally enough, I started New Vegas last night and expect to enjoy it as much as this game, if not more. I’d always heard amazing things about it, but never got around to playing.

I’ve never used an app to track, but as a teen my periods were so inconsistent that they would probably think I was pregnant and miscarrying every 3 months. There were times I didn’t bleed for 3 months then bled for 2, for years. This led me to starting birth control years before I ever had sex for the first time. I definitely would have been on some watchlist if that took place today.

Luckily, after years of trying to stop birth control (and going right back into that weird bleeding cycle every time! >:[ wtf body) my new doctor agreed to do a hysterectomy! It was just recently done, so I’m still recovering, but I’m so fucking happy I never have to deal with periods and bc pills ever again!

Sorry for the novel lol

sbexpert ,

Yeah, one save file per profile. Which is kinda neat because you can have multiple profiles and receive event items on each save.

What are some YouTube channels which follow pre-monetisation ethos?

I’m looking for some small content creators who’s content has not been influenced by the potential of making money. In the early days of YouTube there was mostly trash, but then a few small channels started using formats, using specific styles and actually standing out above a pile shit....

One of my favorites is Atomic Shrimp. He does his own thing creating videos on weird stuff he loves doing. Videos include scambaiting, reviewing cans of strange foods, nature and slowtv videos, cooking meals from ingredients bought with limited budgets and rules, food, gardening, and crafting experiments, cheap dropship item reviews, etc.

I’ve never seen a sponsored ad from him and he avoids using clickbaity thumbnails and titles. His content isn’t for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoy watching all the random shit he does.

Edit: also, I just read over his channel description, he blatantly says he does not accept any offers for sponsorships, paid ads, product placements, etc. Definitely fits your “not for the money” question! :)
