I would far rather the spiders in my house eat these things.

Depends on hair type. Conditioner can be heavy on baby fine hair. I almost never condition my chicken feathers.

Total abortion bans are not actually popular among any voters. But us-vs-them extremism works extremely well.

Pssh, look who’s bragging about having three entire friends.

That is not accurate. Immigration right now is causing a variety of problems, including for those migrating. I recommend reading this for an explanation of the current issues and some independent ideas on how to solve them.

It only requires the app for chilled and filtered. The regular tap water is still available.

I’m having thyroid problems, and in trying to research iodine, I have found that fluoride can have a negative impact on thyroid function. This link is the best I can do on the subject, given that I’m not sure how to find much trustworthy information. It says that as long as iodine intake is sufficient, the fluoride shouldn’t be a problem. But I’m finding conflicting info on what constitutes sufficient iodine intake.

I was not using iodized salt at all. I think since “elevated” cooking has become so popular, I can’t be the only one who was eschewing it (Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat straight up recommends avoiding it). I also don’t eat much seafood. When I was diagnosed hypothyroid 25 years ago, I was told I had a goiter. And not told much else.

Consequences and revenge are not the same thing. If he doesn’t receive the direct consequences of his actions, he will not learn that he shouldn’t do that. Clearly he is incapable of learning via polite means. You are not the only person he’s doing this to, and it is not acceptable.

Are you in the US? You might want to check out the eurovision song contest. I’ve become familiar with a lot more new music that way.

Did Gage specify what he wanted done with his remains? (I don’t know the answer to that.) If a person doesn’t specify, I would accept the choice of their next-of-kin as ethical.

Tangentially related, but you might enjoy Margaret Atwood’s Year of the Flood trilogy.

The edges are crunchy, the middle is soft. A skillet cookie is a giant cookie cooked in a skillet. Cookie butter is like peanut butter, but instead of ground peanuts, it’s ground speculoos cookies.

First time I saw this picture, I didn’t know the context and assumed it was from a sketch comedy show.

Same here. It’s always the same Medicare scam. And I just watched that special John Oliver did about human traffickers forcing people to work in their scam factories, so I wonder if it’s part of that.

Went to the ER one time with severe sinus pain. Nurses spent 30 minutes trying to insert an iv. They used an ultrasound machine and everything. I was so fucking miserable, my mom begged them to just stop. All I needed was some steroids and to go home. I was probably dehydrated from being there, and I’m hard to stick anyway.

Not a logical fallacy in itself, but related: the principle of charity

In philosophy and rhetoric, the principle of charity or charitable interpretation requires interpreting a speaker’s statements in the most rational way possible and, in the case of any argument, considering its best, strongest possible interpretation.

People typically do the opposite, assuming the worst possible interpretation of others’ arguments. I wish this principle was taught in schools.
