What israel is allowed to do it create a buffer zone within their own territories. Move back their Nazi colony.

What israel is not allowed to do is create a buffer zone in Lebanon by burning farmland and acres to the ground. Which they subsequently use as excuse to expand their Lebensraum on.

“Complete Dehumanization”: Israel Killed Over 800 Palestinians in 11 Days (truthout.org)

From June 1 to June 11, Israeli forces killed over 800 Palestinians and wounded over 2,400 as they carried out bombardments and raids across Gaza, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reported. This is an average of over 72 Palestinians killed each day at the hands of Israeli forces....

Calling out Red MAGA is fine but don’t you dare call out Blue MAGA.

Saying that Democrats will vote for literal Genocide if it means Republicans don’t win really hurts their feelings. And like the Republicans they will explain that if the other guy wins it would be worse.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

No they are just complicit in the most obvious Genocide since 1940 while denying it is a Genocide.

Nothing Nazi to see here. The Nazis were bad because they called themselves socialists. Not the Genocide thing right?

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

The NYT article linked in that Reuters article is missing.

From what i can tell the Top Cop story is pretty accurate.

The Atlantic argued in an op-ed that she doesn’t say enough when pressed about criticisms about her track record, “like that she fought hard to keep innocents in prison and failed to fight hard against corrupt cops.”

Biden was also known as the “tough on crime guy” being a co-writer of one of the largest incarceration laws so they fit together perfectly. Two Republicans cosplaying as Democrats.

The slave owner family criticism is indeed far less relevant as a link to 1800’s has like 32/64 people in the parents tree and chances are one of those will be a slave owner but 200 years later that’s not super relevant to the children.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Oh no I heavily disagree. Joe Biden plays the crucial role making israel’s Genocide possible. Without Netanyahu israel could continue the Genocide. Without Joe Biden they could not. He is in my book a straight up Nazi.

In fact Joe Biden himself has something to say.

‘I am a Zionist’: How Joe Biden’s lifelong bond with Israel shapes war policy

When Joe Biden met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet during his visit to Israel, the U.S. president assured them: “I don’t believe you have to be a Jew to be a Zionist, and I am a Zionist.”

Some people are trying to convince the left that Benito Mussolini is less evil than Adolf Hitler.

Which might be true. But at some point we’re going to have to ask ourselves why the we don’t just vote in someone that isn’t a hard-core right winger.

And the only answer seems to be Democrats fearmongering each-other into never voting for another party. The Democratic party is Stockholm Syndrome.

Hamas is fundamentally different from other liberation groups, in that Hamas doesn’t intend to integrate the descendants of colonizers into the country they want Palestine (the whole of it) to be. For instance, the ANC saw the white South Africans as South Africans - they were colonizers, sure, but they would be citizens of the country they intended to rule, so instead of targeting civilians, they attacked military targets and infrastructure.

Well that’s false. If anything Hamas with their 33% military kill rate on Oct7 has a one of the lowest civilian-casualty in a resistance movement. Their attacks were extremely targeted towards military bases as well. But whaddaya know. Whitewash the history a bit and the ANC all become angels. Why was Nelson Mandela on the terrorist list again? We love that guy! He was the peace guy right?

ANC apologizes for deaths in anti-apartheid fight - But says struggle was justified

And also, Hamas has already put a 2 state deal on the table recently. If israel accepts it Hamas would then give up their expelling of israeli colonists. However israel in its infinite wisdom decides that while it is in power it will not make any compromises.

Hamas Wants Guarantees Ceasefire Will Actually Happen, While US Says Hamas Is Rejecting the Proposal (truthout.org)

Following the UN Security Council vote to approve a three-phase ceasefire in Gaza, U.S. officials and other international allies of Israel are cynically placing blame on Hamas for a stall in current ceasefire negotiations — even as Israel has insisted on indefinitely continuing its massacre in Gaza and Hamas has said its main...

Linkerbaan , (edited )
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

From what I am understanding a few points Hamas wants changed:

The US ceasefire proposal says israel only needs to leave the populated areas of Gaza. Meaning Blinken is saying that he wants to let israel occupy the “non populated areas” of Gaza

Hamas wants israel out of Gaza.

Israel wants to continue their Genocide if a deal has not been reached after 6 weeks.

Hamas wants a permanent ceasefire and the ceasefire should continue indefinitely after 6 weeks if there’s still discussions ongoing.

For the rebuilding of Gaza the US would contribute ~400 million dollars to rebuilding Gaza (damage estimates 30-40 Billion from UN) after giving israel 26 Billion in weapons. Did not read a comment about this from Hamas but this seems rather low.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

If there was any chance of it turning into a permanent ceasefire; yes. However israel has made it clear in no uncertain words that they will continue the Genocide after 6 weeks.

Netanyahu says the war will not end until Hamas is destroyed

Biden said Friday a peace deal would involve an initial six-week cease-fire with a partial Israeli military withdrawal, and the release of some hostages, while “a permanent end to hostilities” is negotiated through mediators.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office on Saturday dismissed any idea that Israel would agree to a permanent cease-fire before “the destruction of Hamas’ military and governing capabilities,” saying such a proposal is “a non-starter.”

@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Adfontes rates NYT, a Zionist propaganda outlet, as reliable. So your “rating bureau” is pretty worthless.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

An Apartheid is not a democracy. But still the war cabinet fully supports what Netanyahu is saying here.

So you are correct to point out that it is not just Netanyahu but the israeli government that does not want a ceasefire.

The rest of your comment makes no sense. Consider reading my previous comment again.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Netanyahu is already getting whatever he wants under Biden. Consider telling Biden to stop supporting the Genocide if you believe Netanyahu needs Trump for it.

And Hamas has already agreed to a permanent ceasefire in exchange for the hostages. It’s what this article is about.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

No they are mutually exclusive. Annexing the West Bank without giving its inhabitants the right to vote means israel is not a democracy.

One cannot be a Democracy and an Apartheid at the same time.

I cannot respond to the rest of your comment as you appear to be describing an alternate reality which we are not present in.

Hezbollah attacks military bases almost exclusively (granted their high-tech drones strapped with a bomb don’t always land where intended). Even Hezbollah’s recent attacks deep into israel targeted military bases.

Hezbollah attacks Israel military sites near Lebanon border

Hezbollah footage ‘shows successful attack on Israel’s Iron Dome’

Israel attacks civilian targets almost exclusively is what you meant to say. It’s an official israeli military strategy called the Dahiya-Doctrine.

Israel uses catapult to shoot fireballs into Lebanon

Video footage shows Israeli soldiers on the Lebanese border using a medieval trebuchet catapult to shoot fireballs into southern Lebanon. It has been reported that the army is using the weapon to set fire to vegetation on the Lebanese side of the border in order to clear it in a low cost manner.

@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Which is why… Hamas accepts a ceasefire and israel doesnt…?

Flawless logic.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Continuing the Genocide is a key component stupid Hamas with their permanent ceasefires. 😤

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

No they murdered people because they were being murdered and wanted the murdering to stop. And since murdering Palestinians was fine some of them figured they could do the same thing since apparently it’s fine if the israelis do it.

And since we all collectively decided to ignore the peaceful march to return in 2018 Hamas had to come to the conclusion at some point that we do not care about people that ask nicely.

It must be difficult to comprehend but one side is fighting to achieve peace. The other side is fighting to eradicate all the Palestinians and steal their land.

This is very clearly reflected in Hamas consistently trying to achieve a ceasefire and israel doing the exact opposite.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

They certainly did heavily target military bases with a >33% military casualty rate.

As with any armed resistance you get some people that are less educated and more vengeful. Locking people in a concentration camp for 20 years doesn’t do wonders for their mental.

Also it’s working out pretty well for them because as the popular saying goes: The guerilla wins if it does not lose. And Hamas is not losing right now.

People seem to heavily underestimate how bad the living conditions in Gaza were. There was less bombing 1 year ago but they were certainly still dying from diseases and were malnourished.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

The one where they instantly offer a ceasefire in exchange for all Palestinian hostages.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Because israel was holding Palestinian hostages and turned Gaza into an open air concentration camp and that’s not very cool. And israel keeps terrorizing their mosque which is very Islamophobic.

So Hamas asked israel to stop nicely in 2018 with the march to return and israel held a Palestinian kneecap shooting competition.

Israel decided that they don’t listen to people that ask nicely. Now we’re here.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Yes it’s looking like Hamas is going to achieve those objectives.

Sadly because israel is a Nazi state, it’s like fighting against the Nazis. People die when you fight against the Nazis.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Did living conditions improve for people while they were fighting against the Nazis?

It must be difficult to understand but sometimes thing have to get worse before they get better.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

As long as Nazi israel doesn’t stop of course.

I am unsure why you are blaming israeli terror on Hamas.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

What do you mean? The West Bank is being Annexxed. Gaza is not.

Hamas is offering a permanent ceasefire and israel is not.

What hamas has done has never been done before in 100 years. Israel is rapidly losing international support as they are being unmasked for the Nazis they are. The illusion of israel being a civilized society has completely shattered.

Linkerbaan ,
@Linkerbaan@lemmy.world avatar

Depends which time you are comparing to. FYI israel colonized Gaza at one point and then people fought back and drove them out.

Where is it? I cannot find it. WSJ is another famous israeli propaganda outlet that has a reputation for making shit up.

The WSJ article also contains blatant propaganda claiming Hamas fired on the crossing instead of a literal military base 2 miles away from it. Which was used to park the tanks they were going to use to invade Rafah.

Sinwar’s response: Hamas fired on Kerem Shalom crossing May 5, killing four soldiers. Hamas officials outside Gaza began to echo Sinwar’s confident posture.
