    I’ve been using gimp for years as a Photoshop alternative. Tons of tutorials, and I’ve always been able to do what I needed.

    Something I’ve always noticed and am going through now. Sometimes I’ll drink too much the night before and be concerned about a hangover the next morning. Morning comes, and almost always my first thought is “gee I feel like shit but actually this is way less bad then I was expecting” this misplaced optimism gets washed...

    I agree 2 wks to 2 months was the toughest. I associated drinking with certain activities, and it was weird to do those without drinking. Then, other things i thought would be hard, weren’t. Like parties, family gatherings etc. Thought everyone would say, “hey wheres your drink!”. I think in retrospect i was the only one saying that shit.

    I got pretty good at dealing with hangovers. I have an iron stomach and had a pretty good routine before bed and the next morning to get over it all as fast as possible. Guess that was sign enough it was time to stop.

    What did you do to survive the night of/after a breakup?

    Boyfriend of 2 years (best friend of 6) just told me he’s started seeing someone else. No discussion. Just ghosted me for a week and hit me with this news. Thought he was my soulmate, lmao. I feel like someone just ripped out my insides. Just turned 31 this year, this shit is not any easier than when I was a teenager....

    I used it as fuel to make positive changes in my life. Not just breakups, but any time life throws something really awful my way, I try to make an effort to use it as a force good. Breakups, deaths, job loss, etc. Be a better you, quit smoking, get fit, learn a new skill. Things I normally wouldn’t be motivated to follow through, i do.

    Sorry you’re going through this. Try to remember that it will get easier in time. Accept it wasn’t meant to be, and know there’s a version of you in the future, looking back at this knowing it was all worth it to find the person right for you.

    Too many too old politians. But how to slim the fat. Quota is a neat idea. How about senility test, based on current known conditions and the avg age they occur. The test needs to occur more frequently on people of older ages due to increase odds.

    I feel a quota alone would sometimes screen out perfectly fine older people, while keeping the ones who shouldn’t be there .

    Also 40…damn. I think 20 and 30 year olds can, but rarely have enough life experience for something like this. 35-65 is probably prime age for politicians IMO.

    I quit a few years ago. Super liberating, but after 2 years of practically nobody jumping on Signal with me, and being left out of friend group chats, I settled on “Facebook lite” for my phone. I dont post, or scroll the feed. Just available for chats.

    Going to University means you have a chance at a good paying job. Depending on the job, likely a better chance then someone who didnt go. I make decent money and did not go, however I am incredibly lucky and am not betting on that for any children i have. Trades or University/College is a must.

    That being said, how about the Government reduces the cost of post-secondary education, instead of allowing banks to earn off billions of school loans each year. Here, they do reduce it for citizens, however not nearly enough. Additionally, many graduates end up moving to other countries because the pay is lower here.

    Thank you! I’m a new user to linux. Went through 4 distros this month until this one, that doesn’t seem janky and runs my games at a decent FPS. Having to reconfigure my monitors each reboot was a dealbreaker for me. Your simple instructions worked flawlessly, and i’ve had 3 reboots without having to change my settings.

    I’m not sure if linux is my new forever home yet, but this definitely helps!

    I get it, however when I’m paying $1000+ for a GPU, I want the best for my money now. Not take part in some bigger than me ploy to even out companies.

    Government regulations > a few people buying a worse GPU

    It’s a service that allows tv/movie streaming from torrents. I use it with the ‘Seren’ addon within Kodi on my HTPC/FireSticks. It’s $20/6 months, and works great. No buffering.

    Thank you to everyone’s support. I did not expect as much support as you all provided. I’m happy to announce a huge success! Ubuntu is installed, I’ve overcome several hurdles, and have a few more to go. I’ll try to post in next week to summarize my progress and challenges.
