What do you do when you have reached a ‘reading block’? I have a small primer to read and have no motivation whatsoever to complete it. I must add that I have also just finished a seven hundred odd page philosophy book.
Headcannon accepted, all cats now speak fluent Gollum/Sméagol. It also explains why one second you can be petting them and they're purring, and the next they're trying to have your hand off... 😂
Posed this question over at the Sky place but I'll do it here, too, because I'm curious & want replies!
So, hopefully, since you're [#horror people] we're all familiar w Leland Gaunt, the Needful Things villain that can find something to tempt most people... I'm pondering, cuz I'm hard pressed to think of something I'd be vulnerable/susceptible to. Probably a 1st edition of a rare book. Or perfect health.
If someone, who isn’t an avid reader says, “This is one of the best books I’ve ever read…” (assuming they aren’t talking about something they read when they were 5)
Do you think:
Wow, this must be a phenomenal book, I must find it immediately.
@medievodons, does anyone know about #rabbits in #14thCentury England? I read that a coveted royal licence of 'free warren' was required to keep & hunt rabbits. However, the accounts of the #LadyOfClare record in 1338/9 the receipt of rabbits from various manors which had no such licence. More details available but... would the rabbits have been caught legally? on what terms? or domesticated? Thoughts welcome! #medieval#rabbit#question
Everyone whose literary tastes I trust, recommends Black River Orchard but Chuck Wendig. I loved Mr. Wendig's apple threads on twitter. I love love love apples. But I'm really squeamish regarding hard core horror (blood, gore, slaughter, graphic violence). So, people of @bookstodon – shall I at least try to read it? #bookstodon#question
Another really popular author whom I have never read anything by. I have a few of his & have been thinking about starting with this one. Fantasy is my least (tied with YA and self-help) favorite genre. That being said, I’m willing to give it a try.
