Second plenary at #ADDA4 is Caroline Tagg. After introducing what #connection is and why it is relevant to us, she explains how it is construed or disrupted in mobile communication. I can relate to many dis/connecting practices she’s presenting, from leaving/being left unread/on read to limiting online connection and taking time to polish texts to present oneself in certain ways. She links these practices to media ideologies and interactants’ sociolinguistic features. @linguistics
